Is it a good idea to have a defender as captain, trying to steer the entire ship whilst keeping an eye on what's happening in defence? Discuss. (and don't remove this post! )
Liverpool have had a few centre half’s as captains Emlyn & Hanson both in similarly dominant Liverpool sides coped well enough
I know, but I'm talking about Van Dijk who had to keep an eye on that lemon Lovren. I don't think the role sits well with him. And as people keep pointing out to me, it's a different game now to what it was back then. We were dominant; we haven't been dominant this season for weeks now, even before Hendo went injured
CB is the best position for captain imo. They can see the entire game but aren't cut off at times like a keeper is
IMO Hendo is best choice Van Dijk already has enough to manage, easier for Hendo to always be in the ref's ear
Someone in the middle doesn't see everything. I've played every position in my time, CB is definitely best for an overview and allows you to communicate still.
Yes for tactics, but Van Dijk will lead the defence and team in that way without the armband. The armband is just about being able to follow the ref around the pitch and talk to him.
'Oh shut up, for ****'s sake. Get a ****ing room with Bumps and Jeff's.' Come here and make me, RHC, you unspeakable little turd. No one ****ing asked you, you ****ing troll. Go and **** yourself; let's face it, no one else will!
Are we talking about position or VVD as a choice? I don’t think position is that important because a captain should be a leader, not a tactician. VVD is certainly a leader and captain material.
