Here we go again then... At first I was afraid, I was petrified Kept thinking I could never watch us down-the-table slide But then I spent so many nights thinking how we’ve got Shane Long And I grew strong And I learned how to get along And now we’re back From 18th place I just walked in to find our South Coast rivals in the relly race I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key If I'd known for just one second you'd be mentioning Pompey Go on now, go, walk out the door We turned it round now And we’re not going down no more Weren't you the ones who tried to hurt us with goodbye Do you think we'd crumble Did you think we'd lay down and die? Oh no, not us, we will survive Oh, as long as we have Ralph and Shane, I know we'll stay alive… Let's just hope the footballing gods aren't pissed off with me abusing my special powers, eh? Let's all just remember one thing... If we lose, it's not my fault. It's all because of @Libby @thereisonlyoneno7 and @ChilcoSaint But if we win, then of course, it's because of me. Anyway, I'm going for a 1-0 win for the mighty Saints!
I've literally had people texting me saying 'glad you are back to normal, I feel more comfortable now with your views!' It was a nice vacation to positive town, but I wouldn't want to live there!
I am going to pin my hopes on statistics and statistically we have only lost twice, at home, to Newcastle in the top flight. 18 wins and 11 draws and after 2 draws on the spin here, against them, we are due a win. Given their position in relation to ours, it is important not to lose. Edit “Steve Bruce says he can’t put a ‘timescale’ on Carroll’s return.” Good, good.
i was a bit miffed with leaving Ings on the bench against west ham and then we lost so my miffed turned to mucking miffed moff (try saying that quickly and you will sound wierd)
Southampton V Newcastle Saturday 7th March 2020 15:00 3p.m. KO Referee: Graham Scott. Assistants: Neil Davies, Richard West. Fourth official: Andy Woolmer. VAR: Peter Bankes. Assistant VAR: Andy Garratt.
Top thread @Susan. The home form monkey is slipping from our backs but we have been fizzling out the last few weeks. A bit like Leeds the intensity of our play is unsustainable to a degree and we have been totally reliant on Zings to win us games. Ralph successfully turned the season around but the rejuvenation is out of steam. Ralph to make a couple of changes and sort us out I hope. JWP back controlling the middle please. Get Boof back aboard the project with stick or carrot, dont care which if it works and give Adams something to be hungry for, we need that extra depth and energy in the team. With Redmond and Djenepo out we will struggle otherwise. Newcastle should hold no fear but if we dont score they will probably punish us.
If Ings wasn't fit enough to start last weekend then that's good management. If he played and we lost him for a longer period, then that could have put us in trouble. An injury could still happen at full fitness of course, but no need to take risks if not 100% fit.
Yeah my biggest gripe wasn't with leaving Ings out. I trust that Ralph would only do that if he wasn't 100% and managing Ings properlly is very important. My gripes were with the 2 RBs on the bench and best midfielder at RB. And a confused game plan. But thankfully that ones over with and hopefully we should be back to a more normal team against Newcastle with presumably. Ings starting. KWP starting. JWP in the middle and Djenepo back starting or at least as an option. Fingers crossed.
Comes on, scores, gets injured; isn't seen again until, on loan to Crystal Palace probably, he comes on and scores against us...
My positive demeanour is feeling uncomfortable of the negativity vibes on here. I sometimes feel like an anti-jasper
