That response is a load of ****e, nowhere in the advertising of the event does it say that the closing time of the bar is dependent on the result of the match or the numbers left in the bar. I'd have been in a similar boat, waiting for a lift that was due 2hrs later, with the bairn. Not good at all.
Closing at 2 when you've said you're open till 5 is very poor crack but to be fair at least the lad has held his hands up and admitted it. They've then given a choice of options to make up for it including a refund. It's a shame when it's led to needing taxis and things so you'd still end up out of pocket like. Mind, and this isn't a criticism because I obviously don't know the OPs circumstances, if I'd been turfed out of the ground at that time I reckon I'd have saved the taxi fare and just gone to the Hilton or the Tavern for a few pints and waited for the lift, guessing the prices in the ground wouldn't be much if any cheaper than the Hilton and certainly more than the Tavern. Again though, that might not have been possible. Still think the club having completely ****ed up have at least tried to do the right thing in response
You've been offered 6 tickets for an event that you might not have been available for, or a refund because your night was ruined ! So a refund that doesn't cover it . . . . nowhere near, or nothing ('cos those tickets may well have not been appropriate/convenient for you) ! That is absolutely deplorable, and I'd take it further . . . . I'm disgusted for you
