You might remember the strange tale of Mamadou Mbaye and FIFA ordering him to pay Watford £26,500. Well he has been speaking, and it becomes even more strange. *Mbaye has now had his say, insisting he never had a deal with Watford in the first place and claiming any documents saying otherwise are false.“The penalty that has been put on me and Cadiz is absolutely unfair and based on false documents provided by the Watford that unfortunately have served to fool FIFA,” Andalucía Información report him saying.“I fully trust the people who I was being advised by. I never signed a document or contract with Watford.“The signature that contains the documents that the Watford contributed before FIFA are false.“All this is credited by an independent calligraphic report that I provided to FIFA. I have never had contact or met the Watford representative or the president or coach.“I have never been to Watford, and it is something that is easily verifiable with my passport.“Watford never paid me a single amount of money, I’ve had the sole help of my representative to survive.” * He was among our under-21 players in the Premier League squad list at the end of the January window.
Very serous allegations! Let's hope he is just trying to cover himself. We don't want to stay up then get a transfer ban ourselves although might save money on some duds!!
Re the stadium, I think we will weigh up the 2 options of growing the existing stadium to 30k or build a new one to 30k. strangely it may be cheaper to build new and have proper walkways and bars, restaurants, hospitality etc without having to squeeze it in.
Better transport links and parking will help - also on some better roads. Mayor Khan keboshing the LUL links from WJ to Rickmansworth has possibly forced the hand. Emotionally I'm attached to the stadium and it's a bit of a pilgrimage given some of my father's ashes are under the SEJ. A new complex, say 28k+ makes pragmatic sense, as does the siting. I did my dissertation on stadium design and a few of you took time out to do my survey! Ta muchly again!
I don't suppose that moving out of Watford Borough to Hertsmere would put any pressure on a planning department if there were an application to go up at the Vic.
I think many people do not get tickets at the present as lack of seats makes it hard both for casual supporters and those who come from long distances and are not high on the ABCD categories....
Fair point - might get genuine Watford fans coming as apposed to fans of other teams just getting a ticket to see Premier league football and picking their games. Also guess you just take a risk on the Cooperate side of things. Ofcourse its years down the line and well the Pozzos are going to think positive aren't they? Be just our luck that we get a new ground and then get relegation down to League One god forbid!!
Well done Ben! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...picks-goalkeeper-year-london-football-awards/ Hopefully a few more clean sheets to come!
http://www.watfordfc.com/club/coronavirus-hornets-welcome-fans-co-operation Understandable, but I can see some disappointed kids, especially if they are mascots!! Maybe the club could get the players to hand out cards with a picture of themselves that they have signed?? Anybody think that it will go the way of Serie A with games being played behind closed doors?? D
Nice little piece here about how the club is doing their bit for disabled youngsters. https://www.levelplayingfield.org.uk/news-item/watfords-support-towards-weeks-of-action/
The only thing I can do now , because I have a foot fracture ! GYM GYM GYM José Cholevas Found on his Facebook page with a photo I cannot reproduce, but the link might take you to it.
Just as I was surprised by Pereyra’s height (I guess he’s around 5’11”), I’m sure we walked past Jose Holebas before the Liverpool game. If was him, and I’m pretty sure it was, he’s only about 5’8” (definitely not the 6’ online stats have him as). Maybe it wasn’t him? Anyone else met him? I told my boys it was him. Adam Masina drove past us at the entrance to the Training Ground today, at the entrance. He gave a ‘peace V’ to the guy on the gate, but I just about managed to persuade the lads I was taking there that it was to me!
