I know I'm probably not meant to ask this at this time but is MacDonald any good? Hard to remember from the dozen or so games he had for us.
He never set the world alight in that brief time, but who knows how fit he actually was etc with everything that he turned out to have, it could have been effecting him before he was fully diagnosed...we will never know. But average or not, I genuinely can't wait to see the lad back on the pitch for a first team game asap
When he first came in, he looked exactly like a reserve team player from Barnsley that we'd picked up on the cheap to appease fans. He never really kicked on from there.
Appease who? Whatever happened to that other centre half we had, Czech or summat like that? Always injured.
Ondrej Mazuch? He is on the books of FK Mlada Boleslav. I would say currently playing for, but he hasn't played a game this season, has sat on the bench 3 times but not got on!
He was their captain , but when we bought him he was in their reserves , leading us to speculate what had actually happened with him.
The fans who were clamouring for a signing in January. I can't recall if we actually needed a centre half at the time, maybe we did, but he must have been way, way down the list of targets. And Ondrej Mazuch is at Mlada Boleslav until Summer. I can't see his career going much further, which is a shame because I always thought he looked decent.
Okay given the restart of the season is in sight (possibly) thought it may be useful to bump this thread .. can I take it we have a full squad now available .. the new Scottish flying winger who injured himself 30 seconds into his first day ? Eaves ? Toral ? Or are they still a fortnight away ?
GRANT MCCANN ADMITTED THAT HERBIE KANE AND CALLUM ELDER ARE BOTH DOUBTS FOR SUNDAY’S TRIP TO WEST BROM AFTER THEY WERE FORCED OFF WITH INJURIES IN THE HOME WIN OVER MIDDLESBROUGH. Both players were substituted in the first half of the televised Sky Bet Championship clash, with Kane suffering a hamstring problem before Elder picked up a concussion after being elbowed by Paddy McNair. Speaking after last night’s game, McCann said: “Herbie looks like a hamstring injury. That was disappointing. It doesn’t look too severe so hopefully we have caught it early. “It didn’t look too pretty (with Elder), so I don’t know how the officials have missed that. “He had to come off with a concussion. So again, we’ll probably have to follow a protocol on Callum.”
