Not going to argue that it wasn’t handball but at the exact same time Boufal’s other arm was being pulled. Simultaneous offences, so why prioritise one over the other.
So pointing out that we're likely to achieve a points total that is almost always enough is irrelevant but referring to a superstition is sound evidence. Okay then mate. Skates will bottle it anyway, losing 1 nil atm
Alex responding to last weeks howlers, great that is what I would expect from him. But I wouldn't start the back slapping just yet.
Djenepo's was slightly worse, but they are similar. Both 50/50 balls, both accidenally late, both studs up. Manquilo is a lucky boy.
Can someone please explain to me - the ref blew for the pull back on Sofiane’s shirt and booked the Newcastle player. Therefore, as I understand it, the ball was dead from the moment of the free kick. So how the **** could that be a penalty? Sofiane quite possibly (I’m not defending his actions - they were stupid) stuck his arm out as he’d heard the whistle. If he’d picked the ball up, would test be given as a pen? Ridiculous decision and not what VAR is for, in my opinion. Red card? Probably, having seen it again, but the stamp by Le Celso the other day was worse - malicious - and nothing happened. If they’re going to use it, FFS be consistent
Chill mate, as each week passes you will be proved right or wrong, time will tell. Not worth a meltdown.
What's eating me is, var might have screwed us to the letter of the law, but when you see the other highlights later on, there's going to be loads of worse tackles that var does not even look at that get nothing. Wait for the Sheff Utd game. Its going to frustrate the hell out of us.
Going to be controversial but I don't think either of those potential reds should be a red on real life football. Both players had their weight elsewhere, neither was ever going to hurt the other. At full speed, that tackle doesn't look worse than a yellow. It is a clear on the TV red, no doubt. But when I was playing those tackles went in all the time and they are very different to the full force reckless ones which actually damage you.
No need for that mate, we're just having a debate. How about we make a positive from it and have a charity bet?
