Sack him because if nothing changes we are going down, bring someone else in and hopefully he will get 10% extra from the players and organise things differently. Other than that could a new man change the personnel much, not really? Are our present defenders good enough? Can a lot be changed with the forward line and are they good enough? Bring our three injured regular defenders in and I'd think that's not a bad defence but you cant. Up front Potter can come in but at the moment he's a novice at this level, Don't know what's happened with Maddison?. Would i change the manager in truth i would have liked to have seen him go into another season because he's young, hungry for success and injuries/losing players not helped but at the same time things are not changing and yes he has made mistakes. So just to hopefully give the players a boost, change of tactics ect then yes I properly would change him simply because he isn't changing anything. What a very sad situation this is After all its no fun watching your team not win since last December so let's hope who ever is in charge next Saturday we get that long awaited win because it really is a massive game.

    No, not totally blameless.
    Blame lies with:
    1st. Allam ****s
    2nd. Clown head McCann
and a very distant 3rd. The players.
They are clearly playing to McCann's orders.
I watched the game then heard Richard Hinds in the post match round up saying words to the effect of, playing with effectively 4 up front, being a front 3 plus a midfielder pressing & joining them, often in advance of them, is madness and leaves the 2 in midfield and the already severely weakened defence over run and under protected. and that we don't have the players for that system. When I heard him say that (or words very similar) I thought thank **** it's not just me that finds it so blindingly obvious. That's why blaming the players is a very distant 3rd.
It's what the Allams have done to the club and then how badly McCann is using what he does have at his disposal, which should still be enough to do better than 2 points from the last 33, and what are becoming too frequent batterings, even from other relegation threatened sides.
Let that sink in ...... 2 points from 33 ......clown head, it isn't working ffs.

You're way too easy on the players, no way are they a distant ****ing third - not going with a runner, not marking a man, not looking behind you, not managing a five yard pass, not tracking back when we don't have the ball; personal pride makes you do that, some of ours don't have any - using McCann as an excuse for a lack of effort and lack of pride doesn't work, not for me it doesn't.

Don't forget, it was him who wanted so desperately to bring Maddison in (along with 15 others many of which were his or he gave the nod on)!!
OK, **** hand dealt with injuries, but 2 from 33 and STILL not accepting he's got the system wrong?
He does have options, albeit limited.
The starting point is changing the system, working to the strengths of the players available, making us harder to beat, not leaving us wide open in midfield & defence time and again.
    It's so bleedin obvious.

You might be right, maybe 3rd rather than distant 3rd.
But tbh, I don't think you are. I honestly think it's the way he's telling the front 3 to play, and then on top of that he's clearly telling the pressing midfielder (Irvine this week, Honeyman last week) to push and press behind and beyond the front 3.
If they were just lazy and doing their own thing, I'm sure he'd have hauled them long before now, and wouldn't be starting them. And not forgetting those particular players are his players.
I'm 95%+ sure it's the system & instructions not the players.
When the opposition break we are consequently all over the place. We are seeing it week after week.
Rather than 2 solid banks of 4 when defending, it's a wobbly line of 4 (who so badly need protecting) and then it's like a bunch of school kids ahead of them charging around like headless chickens chasing the ball. It's utterly shambolic.

Completely agree on change of tactics but regarding bringing players in which many of us know are not good enough what was the budget? Are we limited to lower championship and take a chance in division one players because of the wage structure ?. Points wise it must be one of the biggest drops for any team in years

I remember when Bruce first joined us as manager. One of the first things he said was pick a formation to suit the personnel you have at your disposal.

McCann would be sensible if he quickly found a plan b. A defensive formation that can keep a clean sheet and a formation that can break quickly and utilise the pace of KLP.

They're not first choice (*), Elder apart, but I don't really agree.
And he does have options ... off the top of my head .... Taff, esp when you're getting mullered from crosses, Kingsley (who's been playing for u 23's), LDS can do a better job at RB as can Pennington, etc.

But anyway, that's why he should be protecting them not leaving them wide open.
4 4 2 or 3 5 2 (which becomes 5 4 1 when defending). NOT 4 2 1 3 (whether that's how it's set out or not, that and 4 2 4 is what it's been in practice for big parts of the game, as confirmed yesterday by Richard Hinds).

(* McLoughlin looks a decent prospect)

So ... in the cold day of light I awake in Lanzarote and come here to see the headlines of 'McCann't does one' ... only to see he is still clinging to the job ? Why ? 2 points from a potential 33 .. 1 league win in the whole of 2020 .. no league win in over 2 months .. a defense that leaks like a sieve.. a game plan that is none existent .. a formation that doesnt suit the players he has at his disposal .. a midfield that has more holes in it then a string vest and a manager that thinks playing this way will eventually work ? ... I cannot understand why such under performance has not been removed .. i cannot understand why all of a sudden the clowns in charge of this football club have decided it's time to be loyal to a man that is so clearly out of his depth and is tactically naive .. there are 9 games left to change our fortunes around .. to get some solidity into our game .. to make us more difficult to play against .. but instead the fkwits in charge sit in their ivory tower counting their pots of gold .. please someone tell me I'm in a living nightmare and will wake up soon .. in a world where the Allams actually do want to leave a positive legacy .. cos for me all they are showing is a naiveity beyond words .. an incompetence which has only been bettered by the clueless one they have in charge of the football club right now.

If McCann is still in place as city's manager come next Saturday, then I'm sorry to say "we're down" personally think its to late for anyone to rescue us from this ****storm, we should have got rid, a month back,, a good manager adapts to the position he finds himself in,i.e. as Adkins did, instead of adopting this "Alamo"attitude, what worries me the most is we are getting poorer game by game, personally I think the players want him gone as well.

Grant McCann has to take a large slice of the blame being dished out. But the 'players' you allude to also have to shoulder blame. The 513 that travelled yesterday and told them they weren't fit to wear the shirt were right!!! Yes,McCann should go but as far as I'm concerned he should hire a mini bus and take 5 or 6 of these mercenaries with him!!! The Club is rotten from the top down and there are more than just McCann to blame.
