It was FGB, a bitter as I remember, long time ago though. A big old corner house, rooms as bars comes to mind. This well before the phrase "craft ale" was coined, CAMRA was the prime mover in those days. Real ale drinkers often found at folk music evenings in an old school pubs wearing cable knit sweaters and beards (not gender specific).

It's some dude on Twitter, with no backing or other links. The odds that Jack Ma, one of the richest (and most economically powerful) businessmen in the world, is aiming to buy Southampton Football Club, are somewhere below zero. Unfortunately.

How about his father in law as a committed new owner with a long term plan? Cobra beer and currys on the concourse? Makes sense to me.
"While at Stanford, Sunak met his wife, Akshata, the daughter of NR Narayana Murthy. An Indian billionaire, Murthy made his fortune as the co-founder of Infosys, a vast international technology firm that employs more than 240,000 staff".

The pub your thinking of is my local The Wyndham Arms and is probably pretty much the same as you remember, strictly beer and conversation only.

May well be and good to hear it's a proppa pub. I used to live in a Chilterns village the pub (Nobbies) menu was 2 or 3 varieties of crisps, picked eggs and on occasion a jar of cockles or mussels. Washed down with Brakspears beers served directly from barrels in the cellar.

Having his name mentioned in the same sentence as Southampton Football Club is good enough for me.

    Welcome to Southampton Jack.

Coventry was also home to The Specials, a band who arguably did more for race relations in this country than any government initiative.

Indeed! On the bright side, if it gets even more unlikely, we could trigger a stack underflow and thus render it the most likely thing in the world.

And clearly a man of principle, as he yesterday went against his entire voting record!

So he'll be supporting Pompey from now on, no doubt!

    I didn't say we did.

Just saying, when Mbappe is rated at £200m, the fact that just gets £50m more gets you an entire Premier League Football Club, is pretty mad.
