We only had our first case in this country about 10 days ago Soops so the effect on taxi's has not really happened yet. Last week it was decent enough. This week, there is a bit of a down turn but Cheltenham is a huge social thing over here that lads out for the day betting and drinking are using taxis a lot. I work with an app (free now) but I can also pick up on the street so there is always somebody especially in the up and down weather that we currently have. Some people are saying they are using the taxi as they don't want to use trains or buses. I am heading away tomorrow but I'd say the weekend will be quieter than normal. Next Tuesday is St Patrick's Day and we normally get a huge influx of tourists here in Dublin but the parades have all been cancelled this year. I still think there will be lots of people heading to pubs etc. After that, I expect to see a big slow down especially if the figures double every week that goes by. After that, the diet will kick in if I can;t afford to eat . We will all have to go sell our bodies to survive lol.
I'll be going. I travel on the tube every day, I don't see how I can be in more danger of infection sitting in a stadium.
Turns out that goalkeeper that plays for R B Leipzig in the champions league against spurs last night has the corona virus!!!! Spurs players have been told not to bother to self isolate coz they got no where near him
Just looked at my trip to Cyprus in May, at present UK is Level 3 for visitors which is normal, Germany currently Level 2 which is 14 days self isolation, the way things are going we'll be at that Level by next week so looks like that will be off...
Coronavirus: Woman 'dobbed in' after sneezing on flight Bridie Witton05:20, Mar 12 2020 One Wellington woman has learnt the hard way not to sneeze or blow your nose on a plane. The woman - who was mostly recovered from a cold - said she was treated like she "had the plague" and escorted off her flight by medical staff. She was was flying home via Brisbane after a weekend in Melbourne. She had considered letting Virgin Australia staff on the Sunday-night flight know she had been ill with the cold and now just had a runny nose. But she thought it wouldn't matter since she didn't have any coronavirus symptoms - coughing, a high temperature and shortness of breath. please log in to view this image RICKY WILSON/STUFF There was a delay for passengers disembarking the Virgin Australia plane. A second flight attendant later also asked if she was well and the woman explained she had just had a cold but now felt fine. But when she got up to go to the toilet she noticed a family of three sitting behind her had been moved five rows back. "I think it was them who had told flight staff that I was sick because I had been blowing my nose really quietly, so how would flight staff have noticed? "It just shows the hysteria around it [Covid-19]," she said. After leaving the toilet a third flight attendant asked if she was okay. "It did feel a little over the top," she said. I don't have any of the other symptoms.' please log in to view this image FELIX DESMARAIS A Wellington woman's sneeze in a flight home from Melbourne saw her met with public health unit staff when she landed "I explained I had caught a cold off my partner. I explained that I was fine. "They asked me if I had been in China or Iran in the past 14 days, which I hadn't been. "Then they came back to me and said 'the medical quarantine people will come and assess you and see if you are healthy'. "The captain then said over the loud speaker 'we have a passenger on the plane who is feeling unwell. Medical staff have been called'," she said. Once landed in Wellington, medical staff escorted the woman, her partner and friend off the flight before the other passengers - holding up disembarking for up to 40 minutes, she said. The experience made her feel "like she had the plague". Fellow passengers were probably exhausted, with the plane landing after midnight, she added. "We were waiting on the plane for about 40 minutes for medical staff to arrive. Everyone was getting restless. People were standing up and wanted to move," she said. The woman was assessed at the airport by public health workers who asked her about her symptoms and took her temperature - which was normal. Her partner and friend were also assessed. please log in to view this image DAVID WHITE/STUFF Airline staff gave the woman a mask to wear during the flight "They said they had had reports I was coughing, sneezing and vomiting and really unwell. Someone had blown it really out of proportion," she said. A Regional Public Health spokesperson confirmed there had been an unnecessary delay to people disembarking the plane. He said Wellington Airport followed its standard protocols, but "due to heightened vigilance around Covid-19 it appears the airline held passengers onboard unnecessarily. "This has been discussed with the airline and border agencies to avoid future unnecessary delays for individuals," he added. A Virgin Australia spokeswoman said all passengers with flu-like symptoms would be provided with a face mask and, where possible, moved away from other passengers. Quarantine would also be notified, she said. She was unable to comment on specific incidents due to privacy reasons.
My current employer provides engineers that install and maintain various equipment on boats. We have had two engineers on various boats including the one that cannot dock. We have a project manager insisting staff go to Italy (and has been for last 2 weeks) and I have been saying no.....and only last week started to get support form managers (I am very new in a safety role)….hum will I get through my trial period. However the company also has internal security team who have supported and on Monday trip was postponed. We started Tuesday with sending agents to Japan and by close of play today that has been postponed. We have had a colleague sent home after his partner returned from Italy and 10 days ago (I think slight over reaction) and now have bans on travel for Europe you self isolate or work from home for 14 days) so one of my colleagues will "lose" 3 staff for a period of time as they have been to France. My 80 plus year old parents are worried - first time I have noticed this, my partner has gone to Thailand for a project with her company to work with elephants. We wont be seeing each other for 7 weeks....and that includes time when she returns. The gym on the estate next to us has been deep cleaned and I have to say, that although flu tends to kill an amount of people per year which isn't in the news, there have been various strains over the last few years. I think that this is the first time I have actually noticed a change in nature.....going to a supermarket yesterday I noticed that there wasn't the usual footfall there is usually. I hope that all my friends on here, their families and friends are all ok. We will get through this crisis
I see Italy has closed all shops other than food/chemists and essential stuff. I am due to visit France at Easter... I may have to cancel as France is roughly two weeks behind.
Tomorrow they will be moving into the ‘delay phase’ after the Cobra meeting. They are now saying they may close schools.

All travel from Continental Europe to the U.S. suspended from Friday for 30 days Trump has just announced. The BBC say only from mainland Europe.
Announced that India has cancelled all tourist visas until 15th April, including those with OCI (life-time visa), in an attempt to isolate the country from the virus spreading further. I was scheduled to fly there at the end of March
If the government of India have taken that decision, I would imagine you would be entitled to a full refund either from the airline or you should be covered by your travel insurance. Good luck with sorting it all out.
