I personally don't agree with playing games behind closed doors. What's the point. Football is all about the fans. Sure maybe try and take some more precautions maybe recommend that more vunreble people (the elderly, pregnant women etc) do not come but people catching the common flu all the time but because 'coronavirus' has got a good ring to it we're all freaking out. 8 people have died in the UK out of a population of 70 odd million. More people have probably choked on a match day hot dog in that time.
the point is the huge numbers of human beings that ARE going to die... sorry but their lives matter more than kicking a ball about... this is going to kill hundreds of thousands ... the flu is nowhere near as good at spreading ... its the total count not %. ill be fine, but my mother for example is 65 and has diabetes and breathing issues, so I'm pretty sure I want to see action.
Spot on. You would have to be seriously dim at this point to still be thinking 'it's just a flu, what's the fuss?'.
Sensible thing has been done. Playing behind closed doors was a stupid idea. Waste of time, football is about all the parts that make it great coming together. Fans are a major major part of that. Unless you're Sunderland. Then they still are, but only until about 55mins. Just knock footy on the head altogether until this is sorted out. It isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things. Although the death count isn't that high, its not a reason to not take this seriously. Otherwise you're just sacrificing old folk for the sake of you getting to crack on in life. Seems a bit callous to me.
Also I'm not sure we'd actually be able to play behind closed doors. We already have three teams self-isolating because of the virus, and others at risk. Surely it places an unfair advantage towards any team that isn't forced to self-isolate right now?
