I reckon it will be initially postpone the next two weeks of fixtures, situation to be reviewed in 2 weeks. Then in 2 weeks, cancel the rest of the season
I just hope the next four weeks are not as potentially bad as they could be. I hope we are talking about fulfilling fixtures & looking after elderly relatives once again. But football is drifting down my list of priorities really fast.
Agreed Which is why 'cancel the season' will seem like less of a big call at that point. If they cancel the season tomorrow there'll still be uproar from a fair number of people
**** uproar. Do the right thing...we all know full well it'll be suspended within a week. What's the point of playing one more set of games and risking spread? Further, cancelling sport sends a message: that this is serious, and that people need to react accordingly and start actively taking steps to limit spread. Continuing to play games is sending exactly the wrong message right now.
An expert panel convened to discuss their expectations for the disease's progression in the US, based on it having broken containment. Their projection: about 150m infections and 1.5m deaths in the US alone. https://www.linkedin.com/content-gu...-expert-panel-march-10-dr-jordan-shlain-m-d-/ If similar was experienced worldwide, that would be 70m deaths, give or take. About 600k in the UK. And people are still questioning whether this is a thing worth cancelling sporting events over.
Might seem that celebs seem to be picking up this virus left, right and centre. But celebs tend to be comfortably off and tend to be very mobile. It's perhaps ironic then that the very poorest, least mobile people, maybe the safest ones, in the short term.
A Watford fan with one of the worst suggestions so far....... 1. No relegation from the EPL 2. The top two clubs are promoted from the Championship. 3. The EPL plays with 22 clubs for one season. 4. The Championship plays with 22 clubs for one season 5. At the end of the 20/21 season five clubs are relegated from the EPL
Matt Le Tiss If you don’t agree with what the PM has advised here’s a radical idea, take your own decisions with regard to what you think is safe or healthy in today’s climate Randomer Matt, while your concept is right, a multi millionaire ex footballer telling people to do what they want doesn’t work. Some people have to put health concerns before work if work doesn’t support them staying at home and not paying them when they have families to support Matt Le Tiss So 18 years ago I stopped playing football. Bit tricky to become a multi millionaire on 4K a week for a few years Ahhhh, I love LeTiss. He should be a millionaire. It actually annoys me he's not!
Matt is ****ing minted mate. Not from playing, from punditry. And while I will gladly forgive him, he’s a bit of a dick on Twitter.
I don't think he makes that much from it. He is comfortable, but not raking it in. Its a joke how little he earned in his playing career with how important he was. Imagine watching all these tossers on £80K who don't even give a damn.
