Personally I’m way beyond trying to figure out who’s right or wrong. Way too late for that. Each evening at 6 we get latest figures. Until they start improving, we’re all on a slippery slope. China only ones showing promise and Germans who have had only two deaths due to superior breathing equipment in their hospitals

https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/15/mike...-manager-tests-positive-coronavirus-12400479/ Someone who has had it, have a read of how bad they thought it was.. This needs to rip through the fit and healthy whilst protecting the vulnerable, easier said than done I know

Not sure what that’s about Ristac. For the 130k so far that has had it, I’m sure every story is different. We could fill thousands of pages here with varying stories. In my case. My 87 year old dad has to move in with us, he’s terrified but happier he’ll be with loved ones and hopefully at a low risk of catching it. I can assure you he has no interest in how mild artetas symptoms are

Most stories are not different though, if you’re of a certain age group it must be terrifying, if you’re fit and healthy and under 50 you have no concerns. 80% of those who are going to have this show mild to very little symptoms, the guy at McLaren showed symptoms on Thursday, tested positive and today he is okay. The press prefer to add the death of an 83 year old who already had complications.

There will be 100,000s similar and like I said previous, the government are trying to figure out how to keep the vulnerable safe whilst allowing the fit and healthy to swiftly catch it and move on. The 130k is so inaccurate it’s not worth mentioning, they only count tested cases, not someone calling 111, we’re probably into the millions worldwide.

The longer countries stay on lock down, the more businesses will suffer, the more those with Anxiety and depression will suffer, jobless figures sky rocket, crime will increase, those with OCD are going into meltdown, people waiting for operations that are being put back are all suffering.

Yes you and Chesh have major concerns and rightly so over your elderly parents but don’t under estimate the lives this will claim through poverty, stress and financial strain and the increase in homelessness through a collapsing worldwide economy.

Covid 19 will claim lots of elderly lives and the lockdowns will claim it’s own victims of the younger generation. The point most are forgetting is no matter what we do, within the next couple of years we’re all likely to get this, hiding away won’t make this go away. Lockdowns are aimed at coping with the stress and strain of the elderly and vulnerable, I’ve said from the very start, put that group into lockdown and let’s get on with it.

I'm carrying on as normal until I show signs of having the virus and then I'll self isolate for a week. In fact I actually want to contract it just to get it over and done with. The chances I'll die from it are I'd say about 1 in 100 - a bit like Russian roulette, only with this version only one chamber in 100 has a bullet in it.

The more relatively healthy people get it and beat it the less chance it'll spread to the more vulnerable, and the sooner we can return to normality.

I'm with you, Bro. Mass hysteria brought on by world press and panic merchants. Small spelling corrections in place.

Exactly although I’m 53 with no known health issues and never smoked so I think I’ve more chance of dying out on the road today. I delivered to a care home yesterday, they are going into lockdown from 5pm today, no family visitors, no contact with the outside world, correct decision.

My first choice would be for them to discover a vaccine next year and I avoid it until then. Chances are I’d be way down on the list of receiving one and have to wait another year so my second choice would be catch it now and get it out the way before I get older and possibly develop an underlying condition that would elevate me into the higher risk group

The reaction to this has been hysterical. Yes, it's a dangerous virus but it is only dangerous to older people with an underlying condition.

I don't want anyone to die but....

If you are in an at risk group then YOU or your loved ones or friends need to take measures to keep you safe.

Locking down the world is utterly, utterly ridiculous and an extreme reaction to this virus. The world is going to go into recession and more people are going to die in the breakdown in the following months.

It's the same catastrophic, armageddon type of crazy hype that surrounds climate change!

This is the actual scale of it.

The UK Government have asked for the manufacturer’s of ventilators to go into hyper drive, we have 5,000 spread through hospitals.

They haven’t closed schools as many kids have parents who work in the health care sector. The hope is to string it out until a week or two before Easter.

This week the vulnerable will go into lock down. If we all went into lockdown it would be too early, those showing symptoms have been asked to self isolate, as a nation we’ve been pretty good with this.

People keep knocking the government for being behind but they’re not, they’re taking a sensible approach as far as I’m concerned. They are aiming for heard immunity whilst protecting the elderly and clearing the decks for the NHS to be in a position to cope.

The reason China is coming out the other side is because the virus has virtually run its course, again I stress the figures quoted are for tested cases, a population as dense and as unclean as the Chinese, come on, those that caught this will be in the millions.

China has a high death toll because they were not prepared and it was an ageing community, same as the high death toll in Italy. The Italians were told to self isolate in the North but many fled to the south taking the disease with them. If they’d listened the effects wouldn’t have been so bad.

I hope the entire world put pressure and disgrace on China too over this. This disease originated from their filthy street markets where they eat anything that moves, this will be the first of many pandemics if the Chinese don’t get a grip on their ****.
