I was trying to squish down a photo, I posted yesterday, of our meadow ... ... it was too big for the forum I've just upgraded my phone so it was fiddly. I was trying different things and touched an icon that turned out to be Google Lens. It immediately listed the names and photos of every flower, brilliant. No doubt the clever people know about it but I thought some others might find it handy. I found a snake curled up on the front doorstep this morning so took a photo ... ... instant recognition and it was a non-deadly ladder snake that can just give you a nasty bite. Bingo, grabbed it and hoyed it into the hedge!
It's brilliant mate I didn't know about it until you mention it so downloaded the app even knows a packet of pickled onion monster munch from the back of the packet.
We've got grass snakes living in our communal gardens, they live in the undergrowth near the pool areas. I've tried to get a picture a few times but they just slither away when approached. My daughter is terrified of them. Some of the adult ones look about 4-5 feet long and are very quick. This is what ours look like, this is off the net.
Well it was worth a thread just for your post. I had a play with it earlier and it knew the Bristol Rovers ground, the pub we went in and even the swear words I was mouthing on our way out
that's a 'doorstep viper' found in India commonly, there are pillowcase ones as well, should phone the RSPCA though hehe.
