So today's measures will have little effect over the coming days, but hopefully gets better thereafter. Hope all the people in the pub are having fun, and feel its worth it.

What they should do is anyone in the pub now, have a lock in for 14 days. total isolation. May seen fun at first, but I guarantee they won't enjoy it.

Its really annoyed me, the behaviour of some establishments, totally irresponsible.
I wouldn't be surprised if we hear stories of private lock ins over the coming days.

It’s really annoying me. Even friends of mine are saying it’s just a flu. Confused by these figures though- I thought there had been 3500 deaths in Italy so far?

By allowing take-aways, does that mean that McDonalds will still have people queuing inside? And also, if the place has outside seating, is that allowed when the take away is ordered? Seems like a lot of grey area's.

Keep calm and carry on. Nothing else you can do but be sensible and ride it out...limit exposure to news (because most isn't actually news) and avoid a spiral into despair.

You guys have my sympathies having to put up with the fat turd making announcements every evening. What makes is worse is making statements about the current perspective in 12 weeks time, when he hasn´t got a clue what will happen. He might be a boss but he certainly is not a leader as he fails to inspire anyone around him, let alone a nation.

To be fair to Boris, this is why he had to shut the pubs. From the BBC:

"Forcing pubs to close was the wrong decision.

"I think the public are very resilient, especially the British, we are known for our stiff upper lip. I think, let the public decide what they want to do.

"If the older generation, the younger generation, they want to go to bars and restaurants, let them. At least give them the option.

"By me working, that's down to me, that's my risk. If the older generation want to come in for a beer, that's at their risk.

"I understand why they've done it and hopefully it brings a quicker resolution to the end of the virus, but I just think let people do what they want to do. It's locking people up for a minimum of 12 weeks, it is like prison.

"What you see on the news in other countries, you don't expect it to happen in England, you don't expect it to happen in Royal Tunbridge Wells."

So basically screw you everyone, let us stay open. It's 'their choice'. But it isn't their choice. They may catch it and then wipe out a family by passing it on. Selfish twats.

    ...and soap box away again.

That sort of person in this country is as selfish and intelligent as a 5 year old child. Shocking attitude
