Don't actually know them mate, only by sight. I did pass a comment (quite loudly) to my sister though about total ****ers hoarding everything as we passed them loading their car.
And before you ask, i take my sister shopping every Thursday just so she can get what she needs for the week not stocking up

Stay away from your mother’s this mother’s day!

Lots of chatter about the potential for people who are asymptomatic, presymptomatic or with only mild symptoms being able to spread the virus. Really might be worth considering if it’s really worth the risk to see vulnerable loved ones at the moment. Particularly with mother’s day coming up. As much as you might want to see them, do you really want to risk being the reason they end up ill? And if you get someone unnecessarily infected and they end up taking up a bed you might be depriving someone else the help they need. Pick up the phone or Skype/face time.

 

This is a decent point.

As the issue with rationing to 2 items is that it ****s up people like my mate who has 8 people in his house.

Only it’s flaw is that many won’t have them (including me).

 

I cook, pickle, freeze etc everything that’s close to the end. I even make stock which I’m told is weird as stock cubes are practically free. I hate waste.

 

I respect the fact that you’re now advising people to heed expert advice since you’ve spoken to people who work for the NHS but you’re yet to hold your hands up and admit that you were wrong to say it was all a bit hysterical and a great holiday buying opportunity.

I maintained from the start that older people and those with underlying health conditions would be those affected and that I was more concerned with the financial implications. Thats still mostly true but I’ll admit to having underestimated the rate of infection and just how extensively it would hit. Based on previous similar outbreaks my assumption had been it would die out before reaching the levels it’s now clearly going to reach. And having seen a lot of the nhs internal figures it’s clear this will have wider implications than just the deaths originally feared, it’s going to totally saturate our healthcare system.

I still think there has been hysteria - just look at the panic buying. People need to pull themselves together, listen to the advice and help each other.

But I’ll happily admit I underestimated the virus.

 

I feel @Stan and @Tobes are ****ing over this pandemic. Only reason the pair signed up to this forum.

I don't mind admitting I was slightly cynical to start with, it wasn't until someone I knew in the medical profession told me to watch a specific video documented by people on the front line in Italy, it was then my whole attitude towards it changed. It was after that I was like oh shhite, this is a massive problem. It was pretty hard hitting, it laid the foundation that said, whatever happens don't fall ill for any reason, because no fooker is going to be able to help you once this shhit hits the fan. By that I don't mean ill by the virus, I mean ANY illness. It wouldn't surprise me if ppl don't start behaving themselves, Boris will have no choice but to call the army in, and then you will do as your fooking told.

Yeah it's a bit more serious than i thought it was gonna be. But it's also showing the stupidity of the nation.

 

It's got so bad in Lombardy, Italy they've just brought in another set of stricter rules, you can't even go out to exercise now, not even on your own. Yesterday (Saturday) in one day, they had 800 deaths from it, I think it's now out of control. 800 in one day, where the hell do you get beds or coffins as it now is for that lot! I think those that went for that last pint of beer yesterday, are seriously going to regret it.
