It's a track that could never be made these days, which is what appeals.

    A bit like this,

You've summed up my feelings perfectly.

I've discovered some incredible music by accident.

Cheers chaps. Woke up a few hours later drenched in sweat. I feel marginally better now, but my mrs seems to get symptoms in waves so expecting a rough night. It's like she's got energy for 10mins and then back down to earth with a bump.

Yeah @Smug in Boots she was back in London for the hen (she moved back up here in Jan) and then we went to the Lakes with my family. When we arrived, Boris had started pub/restaurant lockdown, some spent the whole time in a mobile home there in ullswater. That is now my biggest fear, that I've passed it on to my brother who is asthmatic. I'm annoyed with myself because I've banged the drum for tighter restrictions since early February and now not only might I have it, but I might have spread it to my family. What a prat.

I'm 36, mrs is 32, I'm sure we'll both have a rough old time and be fine, but it is a stark reminder that there are no special cases and even innocuous events can impact others. We've been locked down since thursday and will be like that until monday next week.

It's like having a really knowledgable mate who gets your varied tastes and keeps on suggesting new music that you end up liking more often than not, really useful. I don't have to skip much at all. Great supplement to your favourite albums etc.

I also miserably didn't advise her to cancel the hen party because how do you tell someone to do that when the government is basically ok'ing it? I told her I didn't think it was a good idea but not much I can say, she's a grown lass.

Wedding is now cancelled too so if I die because of the hen party I'll be bloody furious.

I'm 65 in September and feel a thrill when I'm on random and something comes on that makes me drop everything, run to my phone and check what's playing ...

... I thought I might have lost that joy by now, but I haven't.

This was the last that grabbed me, just over a week ago ...

Well I feel rotten this morning. Still only a 5/10 for some context if anyone has had flu before. I wouldn't go running about, play football etc but if it was necessary I could do a bit of work from home.

Zero energy, cough is bad, ache everywhere and have that awful headache/tingle/taste combo that come with it. Everything is ****, but I can breathe so unless that changes... I'm optimistic.

I'll have to stop watching Porn Hub.

Mrs Smug said to me once that there are certain films she can't get through without having a box of tissues by her side.

I was just about to agree and name my favourites ...

... until I noticed that she was watching Bambi <laugh>

I've just been up to the village to go to the corner shop, which are both eerily quiet.

The shop is so small it was hard to keep my distance from the other two customers and shopkeeper, but we managed.

When I got home I brought the box in, unloaded the groceries, took the box outside to be burned, washed the groceries, put them in the fridge, washed the work surface where they'd been, washed my hands then washed the soap dispenser I'd used ...

... but I still don't feel confident I've done enough.

I've no idea how Sylvie, the shopkeeper, gets through a day tbh.

Just had this from a mate, might help you and other people ...

This is the advice given to hospital staff.
It explains the virus and hopefully, how to prevent getting it.
Please share with family, friends and work colleagues.

    Virus Detection:

The simplest way to distinguish Coronavirus from a Common Cold is that the COVID-19 infection does not cause a cold nose or cough with cold, but it does create a dry and rough cough.
The virus is typically first installed in the throat causing inflammation and a feeling of dryness. This symptom can last between 3 and 4 days.
The virus typically then travels through the moisture present in the airways, goes down to the trachea and installs in the lungs, causing pneumonia that lasts about 5 or 6 days.
Pneumonia manifests with a high fever and difficulty breathing. The Common Cold is not accompanied, but there may be a choking sensation. In this case, the doctor should be called immediately.

Experts suggest doing this simple verification every morning: Breathe in deeply and hold your breath for 10 seconds. If this can be done without coughing, without difficulty, it shows that there is no fibrosis in the lungs, indicating the absence of infection. It is recommended to do this control every morning to help detect infection.

    Prevention:
The virus hates heat and dies if it is exposed to temperatures greater than 80°F (27°C). Therefore hot drinks such as infusions, broths or simply hot water should be consumed abundantly during the day. These hot liquids kill the virus and are easy to ingest.
Avoid drinking ice water or drinks with ice cubes.

Ensure that your mouth and throat are always wet, never DRY. You should drink a sip of water at least every 15 minutes. WHY? Even when the virus enters water or other liquids through the mouth, it will get flushed through the oesophagus directly into the stomach where gastric acids destroy the virus. If there is not enough water, the virus can pass into the trachea and from there to the lungs, where it is very dangerous.

For those who can, sunbathe. The Sun's UV rays kill the virus and the vitamin D is good for you.
The Coronavirus has a large size (diameter of 400-500 nanometers) so face masks can stop it, no special face masks are needed in daily life.
If an infected person sneezes nearby, stay 10 feet (3.3 meters) away to allow the virus fall to the ground and prevent it from falling on you.
When the virus is on hard surfaces, it survives about 12 hours, therefore when hard surfaces such as doors, appliances, railings, etc. are touched, hands should be washed thoroughly and/or disinfected with alcoholic gel The virus can live nested in clothes and tissues between 6 and 12 hours. Common detergents can kill it. Things that cannot be washed should be exposed to the Sun and the virus will die.
The transmission of the virus usually occurs by direct infection, touching fabrics, tissues or materials on which the virus is present.
    Washing your hands is essential.
The virus survives on our hands for only about 10 minutes. In that time many things can happen, rubbing the eyes, touching the nose or lips. This allows the virus to enter your throat. Therefore, for your good and the good of all, wash your hands very often and disinfect them.
You can gargle with disinfectant solutions (i.e. Listerine or Hydrogen Peroxide) that eliminate or minimize the amount of virus that can enter the throat. Doing so removes the virus before it goes down to the trachea and then to the lungs.
Disinfect things touched often: mobile phone, keyboard, mouse, car steering wheel, door handles, etc ....

The BBC disagree with a lot of that advice:
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/51952535/coronavirus-health-myths-you-should-ignore
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/51979410/coronavirus-more-myths-to-ignore

Keep washing your hands, stay at home and if you do leave the house, keep your distance (2 meters) from other people.

The problem with London is that if people have to go to work, there is no way to get there without the tube or DLR, which are likely to be busy at certain times. Until the PM locks us down, those people have to go to work or their employer will **** them over, particularly some companies who are thinking about it anyway.

    The government is failing us.
