Irresponsible employers insisting non essential staff still turn up to work. This is the crux of the problem.

Basically everyone other than essential workers keep off the streets. Army patrols streets where police cannot. Looting or other scummish likewise behaviour attracts a bullet. Sorted.

I agree. Unfortunately it's the only option due to the irresponsibility of the few.

That's undoubtedly true. There's also a lot of scared arseholes out there needing to earn money, pay bills and buy food. They are perhaps not arseholes at all.

They have already been practicing in London. My wife’s Office is adjacent to Oxford Street and one of her colleagues took photos of the army in practice down one of the major thoroughfares. I can’t remember where. It may have been Edgeware.

Maybe some people should try working all day and finding the supermarkets have been stripped of bread, eggs etc by the time they get to shops.

    Two days running.

On their days off, they might decide they don't wanna starve to death and get in to shops early.

Don't condone standing close together but totally understand why people flock to Tesco before opening time as the ****ing shops have been stripped bare by mid afternoon otherwise..

No different to the 1.5m people at the highest risk here, who've been written to and told to stay inside for the next 12 weeks. Family and friends have to sort their shopping, or there's contact details from the government if you need it sorting for you.

I know two people who've received that letter already.

I reckon I might have it to be fair but as they are only testing in serious cases I might not know for definite.

One of my colleagues came back from a family ski trip to Ischgl in Tyrol 3 weeks ago. He came back into the office for most of the week before it all kicked off in the press about the number of cases there.

He stayed away from the office but then came down with flu like symptoms that week. Last week one of my team who I share an office with called in sick with a slight cough but I found out over the weekend that by the middle of the week he had full on flu too. Both of them are feeling fine again now.

Today I'm working from home with a dry cough, sneezing and watery eyes. Might just be an unlucky cold and to be honest that's all it feels like so far but it makes you think.....

Family and friends delivery services, for those who don't have that option certain appointed supermarkets are open on Sunday morning 4 till 7am. Over 65's only.

My old folks are at home none of the neighbours have called on them, me mam did volunteer work for age concern for years, they have forgotten her too. No relatives living near by. Since the new year she has had daily visits from home help, lucky there but they don't like to stray from their designated work (giving meds)

    It's tough.

If the mobile carers go down in this country, and they’re always short staffed as it is, there’ll be a lot of isolated people dead in their chairs or beds. And not dead of a virus
