Oooh, ooh, an excuse for an old joke.

A guy takes his pet goldfish to the vet and tells the vet that it has epilepsy. The vet takes one look at the goldfish in the bowl and says that it looks fine.

'I haven't taken it out of the water yet!'

There's approximately 230,000 construction workers in London, most have been told to carry on as normal, they are not key workers. Breakfast TV had images of them sat together having tea and bacon sarnies and then cramming in a lift together. It's a farce.

And will happen here most likely too as I’ve been saying

would you go in without protective equipment if you worked in a care home for minimum wage and with young kids at home?

This is only from a google search, so don't treat this as gospel, it's only my (very, very) limited understanding.

For those talking of a total lockdown, it seems the perceived logic is that a second post lockdown thread would be worse than the first, as antigenic drift means the virus can be more resilient and more harmful.

In the 1918 outbreak, the second and third waves were worse than the first.

This is what Sports Direct said yesterday. They have been forced to close due to the public backlash.

It was just an example, as they were on the news this morning. There's millions of people working in London, the shop, restaurant and bar workers have been told to stay at home, everyone else can theoretically carry on as normal.

Not according to current guidelines they can't. If they carry on, we'll all get locked down tighter.

The instruction is to stay at home, but you can go to work if it's not practical for you to work from home, which is hopeless.

It's pissing me off, my son in law is in construction and he got a text from his boss last night 'business as normal, see you in the morning'. His boss is a ****, he's told anyone who doesn't come in that they're sacked.

    This is London
Just think how many hospitals there are in the Greater London area. Think of all the social services departments all the different council services that are all key workers
I seriously don’t believe those people are doing it for a laugh do you? They most likely need praising for going to work in those conditions not getting called to **** for it
Cos if they say **** it the death toll will go up.
The cleaners porters etc are probably more important now than any consultant

But as soon as everyone is allowed back out it’s just going to wreak havoc. Those in the most vulnerable group are going to be stuck indoors until Christmas next year.

Even they are stripped bare, it’s ****ing ridiculous mate. Next time the shop has anything in I’m going 10 times and filling my shelves. **** it.

The chemicals firm Ineos, owned by Britiain's richest man Jim Ratcliffe, has just announced it will build a factory near Middlesbrough *in 10 days* to produce one million bottles of hand sanitiser a month.
