Hehe, hedging the bets there. You might as well say "I do believe in spooks", so that you don't get visited by ghosts. <laugh>

Ex-catholic and saw through the religious spider's web by the time I was around 9 years old. Yeah, must be that early, because I wasn't Confirmed. Of course, almost every religious person is an atheist too. Think about it. ;)

By catholic atheist I mean culturally I am catholic, religiously I am an atheist. Too indoctrinated to not respect the culture, but too inquisitive to believe the hype :)

I've never been a fan of white wine, and I used to have a test. If the [normally serve chilled] wine was pleasant at room temperature then it was worth drinking. because my theory suggested that the chilled temperature hid the unpleasantness of the wine.
Then a few years back I was in Southern France and I bought a few bottles of really super cheap Chardonnay [I think] from Aldi. It was either slightly more or slightly less than 1 Euro [oh, the envy]. I did my trademark test of leaving one bottle out of the fridge, and trying it when it reached room temperature. It was unremarkable, but OK. But we left the others in the fridge. As time went past, someone opened that bottle and poured me a glass, while waxing lyrical about it. And it was remarkable. The wine was absolutely superb. Full of scents, and multi-flavoured. Very pleasant indeed. So that blew my theory, and although I haven't pursued it deeply, because I still prefer red wine, I'll have to do a proper re-assessment one day.

Believe me, it's a f***ing shock. 15 year sole trader/worker. People work hard these days. Much harder than they used to, I think. I remember when I was asked to work slower because I made more established senior workers "look bad". <laugh>

It was funny that me & the other half are walking the dogs today (one bit of daily exercise) and I said this doesn't affect me as much as all I ever seem to do nowadays is walk the dogs once a day and go food shopping when I have forgotten to get a delivery every now and again. Oh and football. But that for some reason just doesn't seem important anymore

I'm cutting Boris slack. I'm even affording him some respect, and plenty of good will; even some gratitude.

But Trump? No chance, sorry. He should sectioned, for his and everyone else's own good, but he won't be because the people around him are spineless.

As you know mate I don't do politics but I genuinely struggle to believe how mental he has become now. It's really quite extraordinary that he's got so much power.

Do youy remember how, at school, they told us all that in the future we'd have more and more leisure time, because machines would be doing all the donkey work? Well technology and mechanisation did it's bit, but all we've done is run faster and faster to keep up with it.
