    From Live Science...

A man in Arizona died and his wife was hospitalised after they both self-medicated with chloroquine phosphate, a chemical that's used to treat fish for parasites, in an effort to prevent the coronavirus, according to Live Science. They had watched President Donald Trump tout the medication form of chloroquine, an antimalarial drug, as a promising treatment for COVID-19 during press conferences.

The death toll in Italy from the coronavirus pandemic rose by 743 in one day to 6,820, reversing a declining trend in fatalities observed over the last two days.

Infection rate is slowing down though, and that is the massive positive. There’s been no sign of that coming.

    France now rocketing.

Have to admit, the last few pages of this thread have provided me with a few chuckles. I would like to thank everyone for their contribution, especially seeing someone seemingly want to have a barney with themselves. Bit of a thread highlight imo.

That's a huge shame, I was hopeful it would continue dropping. Let's hope it's a blip as well as the new cases in China as well.

Hopefully (?) it’ll peak in a couple of weeks time and subside. I was one of the “It’s only the flu” brigade a couple of weeks ago, but it’s scary stuff. Let’s hope there’s not much more fall out from it, bloody awful.

Hadn’t seen that. Three of us in my house, me, Mrs Sombrero and my youngest daughter. Until three days ago I did the shopping. My youngest is a copper and still working obviously, so she’s doing everything now, even for my mother and mother in law. No intention of going out for a couple of weeks at least.
I thought no footy and no pubs were bad, but we can still eat. It seems most of the country is falling into line though, thank the lord.

I've just read back the last couple of pages... I was checking to see if the name of the person was slightly different and I'd missed it, made no sense at all. <laugh>

I wasn't quite it's only the flu but certainly didn't appreciate the gravity of it. I think I have now mind and while I hope we get on top of it soon I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for it being a good few months yet tbh.

Didn't this happen over the road at the height of the ban hammer (Aug/SEP iirc), someone lost it in the middle of the night and pages upon pages of posts were deleted and monthers handed out like confetti?

No idea, I don't really drop in there any more and stopped posting years back. TBH, it sounds like a canny normal night for PF, especially after a defeat, or a draw, and quite possibly even after a win.

Think it’s a 2.5 rate of infection opposed to 1.4 from the flu. Not exactly sure how that works but the numbers are astounding when you compare them. My boss showed me and it’s terrifying!!
