My favourite theory about this is the reciprocal universe. Big Bang - Universe expands till universal gravity slows this down to the point where it starts to contract till it ends up as a singular point, at which stage there is a Big Bang ---ad infinitum. As this cycle has no end to it, (and perhaps no beginning!!!) this solves at least some of the paradoxes. At some time this theory lost credibility as there was insufficient (known) matter in The Universe. However, it seems that we have now discovered dark matter which substantially increases the Mass of the universe. So this may not be the close of the matter. Not that it matters to me as I'll be out of the equation till, perhaps, next time round.
Not so far fetched after watching Deontay Wilder's bird like legs acting as if they were attached to a different body last night!
Thinking about the concept of the end of the universe and then what lies beyond the end, is something that makes me dizzy..
When you say giant what sort of tonnage are you thinking of as i believe exactly the same although sometimes i see a giant dwarf.
You believe what you like mate , but there is no giant dwarf . Everyone knows it’s a giant with dwarfism .
To be fair visibility was poor at the time. Could very well have been a giant dwarf with a turtle shell hat. Then again, it could have been a turtle shell hat wearing a dwarf.
If you die so much older than both of your parents how can that be down to genetics - wouldn't you have just inherited two sets of genes that pre-program you for an early death?
Hi - I just came across this thread and here is my thought - I believe that the many worlds multiple universes idea might make sense as if it turns out that things have to be infinite, but I think that certain versions of them would just repeat infinitely, and other versions just wouldn't happen as they would be impossible. For example, if every 'possible' series of events existed, there would be at least one where the current Sunderland side would beat the current Brazil side 10 times in a row of serious games. What I think the laws of physics would provide instead would be repeats of what we see in our world, where you get the occasional fluke win due to the weather or what ever, but not long strings of them under normal circumstances. There, my contribution to theoretical physics! (on a football message board!). Also sorry if someone said the same thing earlier!
The, Nature v Nurture or Genetics v Environment debate has been running for a while. In the example that you quote, your parents might have been destined, genetically, for long lives but environmental issues intervened. The generally accepted view is that both factors are equally important. But it is a fact, apparently, that we are living longer on average than our parents did because of environmental issues such as better diets and healthcare.
Well cognitive dissonance is what I aim for if there is no football to discuss. Schroeder's cat also often says hello.. My religion is Jedi of course?
