I am proud about that... but that is humanity.......

    I have no pride in:
considering my country is better than others or
that we need more profit for ourselves or
    that we hate foreigners, or
that we get drunk and riot in foreign holiday resort

    ..... awful stuff

The Chancellor will be unveiling a package of measures tomorrow for the self-employed. The PM admitted there are "particular complexities' in addressing the issue of support for the self-employed.

From a friend with the virus in Ireland:

For what it's worth, I'm glad to say the flu is over, bar fatigue. So this morning when I saw a police car (garda) outside my neighbour's house, I donned huge scarf and went to investigate, knowing neighbour was in hospital. The thought that he'd got in trouble with drinking or something surprised me, because he's a perfect gentleman. The garda wanted to know all about me and my phone number, and what I knew about others in the area. He was carrying 2 takeaway dishes which I assumed were his lunch. But when I asked if there was some concern for my neighbour, he said no, we're just going round all the houses where old people live, to make sure they have enough food. He offered me the stew he'd brought for Eamonn, which I politely declined because I'm veggie. Then he asked if I had enough food, and as he left, he said they'd be calling me regularly to make sure I'm all right.
Talk about gratitude. I went in and put the kettle on, and could have cried

That’s wonderful, yorkshire. It’s amazing what can be achieved in society when we look out for each other rather than adopting ‘I’m All Right, Jack’ mindsets.

Another thing in life you’re not very good at! <laugh>

Just as Roy Rodgers’ horse Trigger could be described, that was lame. :)

Is that what is behind this? You may have hit on something here. Met someone a few months ago with a Napoleon complex, and it wasn’t pretty.

There generally is an inferiority complex which is masked by superior and self agrandissing behaviours

    Trump is a classic.....
