Pretty worried about my mrs now. Cough has gotten significantly worse today and she is not doing too well. She can still breathe but she coughs now every few minutes and has had a few fits. I know that is part of the milder symptoms but after a week (tomorrow) I don't know what to think. She's in bed now just to try and rest her body from the coughing and temperature fluctuation. Frustrating.
I think that you should assume that you'll get it too, Kitty, so be very careful and look after the both of you . . . . the healthier that you can be, the better chance you've got. Good luck, marra
See the death toll in the uk has halved in 24 hrs but infections rose from 1,000 yesterday to owa 9,000 today Hope we've hit our peak
I can't say that I agree with that. Johnson has been advised by the different experts within their own fields. His guidelines have been modelled on all of those opinions together, and a timeline installed. I would rather have a leader who listened to the experts, rather than making his own rash or lax decisions. I think he's very much the right man to see us through this, and I'm fully behind him.
The thing I hate most about this crisis is that Donald Trump is making this buffoon look competent please log in to view this image
Is that the buffoon who's guiding us, after seeking and acting on the advice of experts in various fields, through this crisis better than anyone that I can think of that possibly could You should probably stop trying to divide us at a time when we should all be sticking together and helping each other . . . . this is definitely not a time for political point scoring n.b. it is Boris that is making Boris look competent
Mate, seriously, maybe now is the time to pick up the phone and dial 111. This hasn't truly hit the NE yet, I don't know the figures from last night but Tuesday night saw 16 people admitted in to Sunderland Royal, so atm our region isn't in as much of a **** state as London so get on the phone and worst case she needs to be admitted but looked after by professionals, best case you get a little peace of mind... Keep us updated though mate.
What the ****ing hell are you talking about? Will you call me a "snowflake" in reply? God this internet is full of halfwits. By the way I am still working and paying tax probably to help you sit at home. Will you refuse any government hand outs including pension just in case that money came from a socialist?
It could be Then again, the comment might have been directed at someone who was on holiday and absent from public appearances for 12 days during the early days of this crisis. Came back saying "wash your hands", "listening to the science" etc and then a few days later "herd immunity"....which was quickly retracted as schools closed 6 days ago, people using urban transport and gathering in public spaces just a few days ago, Other nations, including Italy and France locked down much sooner Other nations, including South Korea and Germany quickly mobilised tracing and testing Some nations such as Hong Kong and Vietnam closed their schools and public venues well before any rapid outbreak was likely to occur The evidence from other European nations nations has been a lock down is inevitable, meanwhile blah blah Boris blathered out "wash your hands" while the pubs and clubs in London and elsewhere were busy and schools remained open Other nations rapidly vamped up procurement of testing equipment, ventilators and prepared bed spaces while Boris bumbled on about 'social distancing' and schools remained open It was pointed out that the current doubling rate would result in millions being sick by the beginning of May and over 100,000 being very sick potentially at the same time when we have around 5,000 intensive care units in the UK, 4,000 currently being in use by intensively sick people, cared for by a highly trained one-on-one nurse and there are also an acute shortage of nursing and hospital staff. (Italy has around 11,000 icu's and 21% 75+'s: UK 19% btw) ...and schools remained open as teachers, care staff and health workers now face the brunt end of The UK Laboratory. We don't hear much about 'herd immunity' any more do we? The delays in this country will likely result in avoidable deaths numbering tens of thousands and the scientists we were supposedly listening to are currently saying 'we should have acted much sooner' meanwhile our poor preparations are being laid bare as only now is equipment "on the way". Never mind, just keep listening to Boris, wash your hands and "stay indoors, stay indoors, stay indoors". It would be appropriate to get an unreserved apology to the nation from the Tory party for their decade of austerity that has left the NHS much more poorly able including training, equipment, staffing and accommodation
Got out the wrong side this morning you want to be careful getting all hot and bothered you might melt, so pensions are a hand out what a div.
The most important part of the nation is the NHS yet it's been wilfully neglected. It's a little sad to see Johnson and his ministers jumping on the bandwagon of admiration and appreciation. Seeing the Health Minister grinning away proudly that masks and gloves are on their way is poor imo. The blood transfusion staff have had none since this started. It's like ordering sandbags in the middle of the monsoon season.
