I thought Short was quite scatter gun in his approach anyway. DoF, no DoF, etc and then I thought Advocaat to Allardyce wasn't a logical progression. Not surprised he'd had enough. He either realised he didn't know enough about it or the advice he'd been getting was shoddy.
Both mate. Both. With the right me overseeing it Short could have been a wonderful owner. He chose the wrong people time and time again.
This. He seemed like what we needed at the time and he bought into us, at the beginning at least. Too many mistakes were made on his watch, most of which weren't entirely his fault.
He bought in for several years, he was fully committed and he had the finances to do it. Had we brought in the right football men in the middle office, we may well have made it under his watch. We were so, so close. Keane has makings of a team, as did Bruce and certainly Sam did. Sam would have bought well in that summer window and we’d have been moving forward. Instead we get Moyes, we get N’Dong for M’vila, we are ****ed.
