That is a rather biased view. The NHS has been underfunded since I was born 61 years ago and probably longer. If living within one's means is 'ideological', then not doing it is asking for trouble. Jeremy Hcunt is a politician, so say no more, Merchant Banker, like the rest of them. Infrastructure is being invested in more than ever, HS2 and smart motorways, Lower Thames Crossing, Crossrail etc. That comment is wrong. Branson has got nothing to date, which is right, he shouldn't, and as for Dyson, cnut or not, if he can help, don't knock it.

The justification is that if the government gives incentives to the wealth creators, the benefits trickle down to the rest.
It's utter bullshit and always has been.

To put it simply, I understand the many games that are played in society,
from politics to business to media to 'gobshite privilege' and more.

I would seek to end those games, and "equality of outcome" is my weapon of choice.

However, because equality of outcome for those such as me is for true equity
and not those who use it for the sake of oppressing / perceived revenge against
various 'identity groups' , to (not) support me by definition causes cognitive dissonance
    for the latter.

I would truly be the politician who is hated (albeit for the right reasons) by everyone. :)

Funnily enough, the wealth creators want to keep the wealth to themselves

If the Tories wrote Robin Hood, it would paint the Sheriff of Nottingham as the good guy as he was obviously both a wealth creator and a job provider while Robin and his merry men were being "divisive"

And don't get me started on the notion that landlords "provide" housing, rather than what they actually do: hold housing hostage

It trickles back to the Tories and to offshore tax shelters.

It's not living within one's means. It's an attack on those who are least able to resist it to aid the richest in society.
We've removed support for mental health issues and destroyed our own healthcare and justice systems.
That's like saving money by not buying food and water.

I've lived in many African countries and trust me, we should be thankful for what we have.

And we should look to keep and improve it. It's not a race to the bottom.

It doesn’t trickle. It goes in floods of biblical proportions.

If the country was in trouble financially then fair enough but while they have been cutting investment in the NHS, Police, fire services, councils ,schools, justice system nursing bursaries increasing tuition fees, they have bailed out the banks cut upper taxes
Like you say pnp this has to stop or this country is going further down the pan

North Macedonia has joined NATO. Seems to have gone under the radar somewhat.

It's going into the pockets of the companies that are making a killing from carrying out the work that councils ect no longer provide but these companies only pay minimum wage or zero hours contracts ,piss poor terms and conditions. These are the backers of the Tory party and those that benefited from brexit
For every person that benefits from zero hours contracts there must be 10s that struggle and the benefit system has to plck up the slack, we are enabling offshore multinationals to pay less and profit more

So what you are telling me is that there are less than 90K people in the UK who :

    1. are currently on unemployment subsistence

    2. are not physically fit enough to go into the fields and gather the bounty

    3. if in other parts of the UK, cannot economically migrate, short-term or longer,
to the parts of the UK where 2 is happening
