United supporters are **** all like that.

The only other ones who think they're in someway unique are you lot to be perfectly honest.

We certainly have more than our fair share but it's by far the minority. Your opinion based on people you know our the media, no fans are represented well in the media.

Careful mate, astro will be asking you for "evidence" of that. Like asking to prove daylight means it's daytime. You'll need quotes.

Ofcourse he will continue to post articles from the illustrious athletic.co.uk to back up his delusions. with no quotes whatsoever.

My comments about Liverpool fans are merely anecdotal and based solely on the hundred or so I've spoken to personally ( it's probably a lot more than a hundred).
I'm sure all the others are reasonable and not deluded in the slightest.

    Looks ominous to me

I dont know how you can split the football pyramid into 2

the important ones and the not so important ones?

Binned it for the not so important ones...play it out for the important ones?

what’s makes completing the top flight season more important?

"The modelling that's been done, and that I have seen, has always said that we need at least 13 weeks of some sort of measures in order to really get this virus away from spreading amongst people.

"When you have a shorter period of time, as I understand other countries have done, as soon as you lift the measures the virus comes back again because you haven't stopped it transmitting amongst lots of people."

Gove deciding to listen to experts for a change. 13 weeks from last Friday would be 19th June. Teams would want at least a week to train together before getting back into games I'd have thought so by this timescale (even if sports were deemed ok to go ahead) you'd be looking at Saturday 27th June as the realistic start date for resumption. It seems unlikely the league will be completed by end of June or even July so the FA should be announcing contingency measures to clear this all up. If they just come out and say "games have to ressume by x date or it's all off" OR "we will be finishing the league even if it means the delay of next season". Is there any actual benefit to the uncertainty?

I know this is a footy forum so focus will be about that, but there are people out there who have had their GCSEs and A Level exams cancelled. They know nothing about any contingency plans for what will happen to them. Many will lose out on the grades they'd hoped for, many on the 6th form and university places they've worked so hard for and most will face an uncertain future ahead.

And as has been mentioned if Gove is talking about 12 weeks for lockdown then many will lose their jobs, many could lose their homes, and many will suffer with their health as more treatments and operations are cancelled, not just coronavirus.

Football comes way down the list.

Theres still 10 weeks worth of football to be played if games happen twice per week and all competitions are to be finished.

So even if we started in May we wouldn’t finish until the middle of July. As it’s unlikely we will see football again until some time in June at the absolute earliest, playing out the season would mean starting the next season in October and trying to cram in a full season in less time before playing the euros.

It just seems highly unlikely that it’s possible to do without totally ****ing the scheduling and also the players for the next couple of seasons.

Unless we play more than twice per week. But even playing every two days non-stop would mean teams in Europe having to maintain that for 5-6 weeks. Can you imagine how **** the quality of football will be? And how many injuries there will be...

It makes more sense to scrap this season and hope we are in a position to start the next one normally. And ultimately I think this will continue for long enough that it’s the only option.

I think one thing is absolutely certain now, there’s gonna be no mass gatherings for quite some time so even if Liverpool do get awarded the league title, they’re gonna have to celebrate in silence with no parade. Not that this would make any difference to the lads on here.

Not sure how you work 10 weeks out. There’s 9/10 league games left, so you could finish them off in 5 weeks playing twice a week?

There’s still 3 other comps running as well.

Maximum of 19 games left for United this season.

No chance the CL and EL get finished imo. Unless they try and do one day mini tournaments.

Yeah I agree. Tbh I can’t see any football being played until next season starts, people’s lives being saved is more important than any trophy or any amount of prize money.

Perhaps football needs this reality check anyway. They can host some one-off competition/games for Sky/BT next season(s) to manage their lost revenue.

Yeah I can't really see any football being played either but it's a definite non starter for European comps. Struggle to see how next season starts on time tbh as the qualifiers begin in July.

I doubt UEFA will have any clue how to deal with it until every member nation has the virus under control.

Sky will have to like it or lump it, they’re already charging more than ever for delivering less and less.

9/10 league games, 3 FA Cup rounds and potentially 7 games in Europe.

As has already been said, the European games have zero chance of being completed. So even with the FA Cup you could finish it in 6 weeks.
