That’s because equality of outcome is a stupid goal... equality of opportunity on the other hand is a noble one.

Equality of outcome can also be a noble goal.
IF in the hands of people like me and not in those I previously mentioned.

That are unwilling to undertake back breaking work for a pittance of pay due to the stranglehold supermarkets have on the supply chain. Yes there is a shortage.

Plenty of companies make a modest profit or even struggle to make a profit providing those services at a lower cost than the public sector could. And where it’s possible lots of those people have the opportunity to earn above minimum wage. And lots of them aren’t on zero hours contracts... You’re making huge generalisations there.

And relating it to brexit is a bit vague as it entirely depends how the companies run, how far they depend on immigration to find employees etc....

It’s not just mega companies providing the services you’re talking about, there’s plenty of good socially conscious businesses providing the services to the public sector.

So you are telling me that there is a "false economy" in the food sector
(specifically the worker labour costs) created by UK supermarkets ??

The solution to that is very simple.
The electorate is informed of the lie, and we accept that we are going to
have to pay more for our food (which goes towards the wage costs of the
UK workers who toil in the fields) .

    So, just to catch up...

nobody can remember what happened about the respirators from the EU and we're doing nothing to remedy it...

and we're repatriating people from the city with more cases than any other and sending them home on public transport.

    Excellent...<yikes>

Apart from building another Golgafrincham Ark Fleet Ship B for the advertising executives, tired TV producers, insurance salesmen, personnel officers, public relations executives, and management consultants, cutting their hands off seems pretty fair...all things considered.

The hairdressers and telephone sanitisers are getting a reprieve this time round.
