Well.. It encapsulates that perhaps it's not to be taken too seriously. One poster gets a thinly-veiled violent threat and over the top condemnation for making a relatively innocuous joke about police incompetence, whilst several posts later, the same posters are vigorously supporting and volunteering for death squads killing alcoholics and the mentally ill on the streets...

 

If I may liken the mood to 'Twelve Angry Men', the film in which the reasonable liberal Peter Fonda finds himself vilified by angry fellow jurors who lose their cool in the claustrophobic sultry heat of a NY summer.

A form of cabin fever I think for some posters.

 

Can just visualise that.

Mate at work said there's been trolley after trolley heading into A&E today. Considering things have been quiet, for various reasons, this could be a sign of things picking up.

 

you are too kind - there are a couple of posters who are provocative wind up merchants who would argue day is night on any thread just for ****s n giggles. About one post in twenty they may say something actually funny or witty or relevant - just enough to keep them on the right side of the line with the mods.

I’ve modded discussion boards elsewhere so I recognise the type - in that case i even knew in person the poster doing the winding up. he was a tit in real life too. And a QPR fan.

There is also a sub stratum line of less intelligent bottom feeder poster who eagerly 'likes' posts in order to gain acceptance/recognition by his peers.

Every forum seems to have them.
