Thought we were keeping political point scoring off here? This is clearly an anti EU post, if anyone criticises the UK governments handling on here they get lambasted.
Because the Chinese are looking to dominate the world economically, and this will damage the world economy, including their own, massively, making them poorer. They were well on the way to domination without doing this, with huge infrastructure investments which tie loads of economies to them, plus manufacturing stuff which depends on us buying them. And they own a chunk of western countries’ national debts - $1 trillion of US debt alone. Bankrupting your debtors is not such a great idea. It’s the old question Col, what’s in it for them and what’s the most likely scenario? If the Chinese people, used to a constantly and dramatically improving standard of living, find this going into reverse, Xi and his cronies are under direct threat from their own population who have no way to express themselves other than revolution. Of course they could have released this bug from some research installation by mistake, but having been to China and South East Asia and visited live animal markets, I can assure you that just like other ‘novel’ animal to human viruses it’s much more likely to have originated in one of those hideous places, common in that part of the world and in Africa. Plus if you wanted to destroy the world why would you infect your own population and why wouldn’t you do it with something more deadly, like an Ebola? Might be wrong, but as always I favour cock up and coincidence rather than conspiracy. As you might have spotted, I truly despise the Chinese Communist Party and wouldn’t put anything past them, but I don’t think even these totalitarian twats are In control of this.
Not really. The main part of that post was about Coronavirus... I know you don't like hearing negative things about the EU but it was all regarding the virus.
So 2 bits of news good/bad 1. Prof Neil Ferguson from ICL has just said that new patients to the NHS has eased. Not to get too excited but it maybe due to lockdown. 2. Some @@@@ has assaulted an NHS worker and fractured their jaw. I think it was in Salford. Been arrested and named
Absolute horseshit, I'm fine with valid criticism be that EU of UK however if anyone dares to criticise Boris or the Government on this thread you'll get lambasted for trying to score political points out of a tragic situation... which you have just done. Clear hypocrisy and shameful, but hardly surprising you need to get some perspective.
Do you believe this bloke Ninesy? Look him up. The only thing I’ll say is that he was a GP, but resigned from the NHS in 1981 and has been long removed from the list of practicing doctors by the GMC.
I think it speaks volumes that Italy has received more support from Russia and Cuba than from the EU. I believe this will be the beginning of the end for them as the Mediterranean countries are once again being shafted...
agree I was reading an article regarding money and support they were getting from the bloc and they were not happy.
Did I say it hasn't? My point has well and truly flown straight over your head. The point being is that if there is any criticism of the UK governments handling of the virus on this thread is slammed for political point scoring and advised not to do. You have clearly done the exact same against the EU, but that's fine right? Oh and a cheap personal dig as well by the way. I've respected the request to keep any kinda politics off this thread, I'd suggest in fairness you do the same.
life was easier when you were on ignore. I thought as you have returned I would reinstate you... however it's the same old crap Wills. If you read back you will see that I have criticised Boris/Hunt/Hancock/Trump/Tories and many others over some of the handling of the virus. My point, and I will stick to it, is that it's too early to keep bashing the government as this pandemic is unprecedented and things are changing daily ad they need to adapt as it changes. Maybe they can take some criticism regarding equipment and testing but ww will have to wait and see. However to keep bashing them everyday is unfair.
Ok starts with another disrespectful dig but that aside a much more balanced post. My point being is that a while back it was asked that all political comments are kept off this thread, you're right I don't read all the comments, I have other things to do, some call it a life so fair play to you for making such comments. There were warnings and the government.... I'll keep that sorta thing to the politics thread as we were requested to by mods.
I dunno mate, dismiss nothing, question everything. But what I do know is this, Don Henley had the heads up on this back in 1984. Listen to the opening lyrics of 'The Boys of Summer.'
Have just ordered this book that they talk about 'Unrestricted Warfare: China's Master Plan to Destroy America' Something to read in lock down.
I think it's probably a re-hash of Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' Nigsy, and as we know ... The original is always better.
I dont even think political point scoring is relevant during these times. We, of course can criticise or praise the government on their actions or lack of actions throughout this pandemic. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Would the lib dems or labour etc have handled this any better or worse. Who ****ing cares. It's about what we do now and what we do in the future. I'm no Tory fan, ****ing hate them but my feelings towards them go out of the window and I actually think in certain quarters that they have done really well. In other areas like testing, they are doing pathetically bad. Not because they are Tories but because they are people and we all act this way during our life. We need to all be on the same page regardless and hopefully this will be over sooner.
As for the conspiracies flying around, I have to say that I have never believed that this disease came from a 'wet market'. I believe its man made. By whom or for what reason I dont know. I do know that my ****ing shoulder and neck hurt like a bastard! My mrs and 14 year old son have pain in exactly the same areas. Bizarre goings on.
In the winter of 2017, flu killed over 50,000 people in the UK. I had no idea, because we weren't building emergency hospitals and trashing our economy because of it and the media weren't in hysterics over it. All deaths are tragic. I'm not saying they aren't. I am, very much, starting to question just what the **** is going on!!
I hope we don't see a death's head sticker on a Cadillac anytime soon, Ninesy.* [*See Stainsey's correction to my ignorance below ]
Uber, I always thought he was referring to a ‘Grateful Dead’ sticker (Deadhead) ? Am I wrong ? If I am then my life truly has no meaning from now on
