Hopefully good news about helping Coronavirus patients to breathe... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52087002 Well done Mercedes Formula 1 innovation turned to the best possible use. This is a welcome story too; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-52086284 There is far too much rubbish out there on the net regarding Coronavirus. Some of the myths are utterly laughable, but millions still believe in them.
Dorks of the Day ... Monday 30th March Panic buyers and stockpilers are now throwing away huge amounts of food because it has passed its sell-by date. Much of it dumped un-opened. These morons should be reported to the authorities. Apparently there has also been a rise in abuse directed at rubbish collectors. Why? Bin men are performing a vital, quite nasty and sometimes dangerous job. They are important key workers and they should be thanked, not abused. Would people prefer to have to take their own rubbish to waste disposal sites (some of which are closing) or have to fly-tip it?
I am concerned at the death toll figures(we all are, of course). 1,250 was mentioned yesterday but how many of those had underlying problems and coronavirus is easy to tag on?
Just seen official orders for the following companies to make ventilators Vauxhall and Airbus - 20,000 Rolls Royce - 14,000 Dyson - 12,000 Jaguar Land Rover - 10,000 Aston Martin - 8,000 Bentley - 6,000 Seems they are expecting a tsunami of cases in coming weeks
Glad to see those orders. Maybe the Government is anticipating some of those suppliers will be unable to meet their deadlines. Those ventilators may save lives in other countries too once we have no more need of them. Wartime production Great to see it.
Reports from around the globe are that all countries are doing likewise. I fear those numbers are what they think will be the minimum requirement!!!!
