That and ignoring the recommendations of several pandemic exercises regarding equipment, levels of staff and expertise.

What a colossal waste of money to tell people what they already know. Given the PPE crisis TV, radio and internet would have done the job. ****ers all that were involved.

This is in reply to @Kaito’s post on the General Football thread with which I agree with every word. The NHS, for the last 40 years, has become obsessed with efficiency at all costs, minimising wasteful practices, and saving money. Now I agree there was a lot of wasted money, and those practices needed changing for the better, but look where we had got to immediately prior to the current pandemic. The NHS was running at 95% capacity on a permanent basis. Beds were only empty long enough to clean the mattress and change the linen before the next occupant moved in, and they only stayed for the bare minimum time. Staff had been cut to the bone, were working long shifts, often with minimal breaks.

And now they have this to cope with, which will affect NHS staff just like everyone else. I retired 6 years ago and I can only imagine what they are going through now. Don’t forget, as well as Covid-19 victims, they are still coping with all the emergency cases they had under normal circumstances as well. Last week a good friend of ours had a heart attack at home, in our village. The ambulance arrived 10 minutes after the 999 call, she was rushed 15 miles to the RUH Bath, and her life was saved. She is back home in isolation now, and is doing well, thank goodness.

As someone said the other day, it isn’t enough just to show the nation’s feelings for the NHS by clapping and cheering for a couple of minutes. When this crisis is over we all deserve to have an NHS that isn’t rushed off its feet all the time.

He looks like he's been self isolating in someone's cellar for decades. The crypt of a church, probably

Bloody hell. Perhaps he was going to have the camp in Belarus and rely on alcohol and saunas to safeguard his healthy young men.
Doesn’t he understand that healthy people are also dying from this virus?

Are you & your anti-Tory mates for real. Virtually whatever Tories/Johnson does you ridicule. All governments including ours are spending billions & if a friggin letter makes a couple of people take notice, maybe it’s worthwhile to save “that” life. There’s ****ing 000’s still in denial so surely any actions such as, are worthwhile, even for a few extra “saves”? Get off your friggin high red horse. Absolutely pathetic.

There does need to be a cease fire with the brexit comments and tory hate. The more we pull together, the better chance we have right now.

I'm real and anti any ****er talking bollocks whatever shade. The letter is a waste of time and money, those in denial aren't going to be moved by this piece of arsewipe.
"Absolutely pathetic" as is your tory apologist rant. Any dissent or criticism of the incompetent handling of this crisis get an automatic "red" label what bloody nonsense!
Any government, institution or individual whatever political shade deserves scrutiny and criticism. Particularly Johnson with his proven record of lies and deceit.

When those in the NHS frontline fear for their safety because of PPE shortages and doctors are dying then of course there will be criticism, deservedly so.

We all have a cross to burn. But I'm not going to moan on here all day about it. We've already lost 70% of our posters. It's hard work reading this page with people throwing mud constantly.

Is Priti Patel now running the country as most of the Cabinet seem to be in isolation?

The chickens have come home to roost. Everyone now knows what a lying incompetent buffoon Johnson (do what I say not what I do) is.

I have rewritten your first sentence:

Are you & your Tory mates for real. Virtually whatever Labour or Corbyn says or does you and the right wing press ridicule.

It is sauce for the goose and you don't like it.
