The registered death rate is still rising, but for the second day the increase is smaller than the day before; 260 ... 24 hours to Saturday 209 ... 24 hours to Sunday 180 ... 24 hours to today Still too early to tell if this is a meaningful trend. But any slowing of the terrible toll is to be welcomed. However, there is absolutely no grounds for believing we are over the worst of this, or that we can relax our disciplines in any way.
my first outing (apart from running) today.... i've got some really bad teeth pain and so i emailed my dentist the symptoms. says i need root canal but he cant do it till all of this blows over. said he could get me some antibiotics in the meantime. so today, i went out and spoke for less than a minute to another human adult, aside from the missus. my boring tale of the day....
Sorry to hear about your tooth pain SIG. Never a good time for that of course, but particularly annoying right now. Antibiotics should help for a while (once they take effect). Do complete the course, of course... Hope it doesn't take too long to get them from the chemist.
dentist gave them over from his stash for free. i was chuffed to bits as it saved hunting for a chemist! nice that there is still goodwill out there.
I may be asking you the Dentists name Sat, I had a crown fall out at the start of last week and unable to get anything from my dentist. All they would say is if the pain gets very bad I should phone 111... great service huh!
i did consider that - my guy said if you do that, then you'll get sent up london and they'll pull the problem tooth - nhs are prioritising coronavirus care. i'll need root canal and a crown after this. hate the dentist in the first place. i got given amoxicillin - might be able to get some online? lloydspharmacy can diagnose and prescribe online...
I went to work today through necessity. My first trip to the office in 12 days. Central London was empty. When my train pulled in at Charing Cross, I counted four people getting off.
my wife is going bonkers with all of this. she's sat on her laptop, tablet or phone 24/7 waiting for emails. she's a teacher. i've been saying for days to just upload the powerpoints and then come back later. make the most of no commute, no actual work; be with me and the kids. but, she cant chill out. she aint coping well. me on the otherhand.. i like my own company. it's nice being able to contact people when i want. not the other way round. the kids like having us around; and i get to exercise more and plan proper dinners. i'm not at all saying this is good... but i will look to take positives from even a bad situation.
The Government has done a superb job so far, and away from the Twitter echo chamber, the Great British Public appreciates it. Can you imagine it if that simpleton Corbyn and his inept sidekick Abbott had been in charge during this crisis You need cool heads and people with brains & common sense, able to take quick & effective decisions based on multiple sources of evidence. Thank F uck Richard Burgon & Co aren’t running the show.,
This won’t last forever. The finest minds in the world are working on a vaccine as we speak. When this is all over, we will appreciate even the horrible things in life. Like your legs.
i think the government is doing a great job. it's a global pandemic, nothing will go according to plan. to go and get £330bn to help everyone show's just how well we're being looked after. in comparison, i think canada got £18bn. it's the herd left who do have the grace to even acknowledge it. most of them posting sh1t like "hope he dies" after the announcement boris got covid19. and they reckon they're the ones who have the moral high ground.
I've been to our factory a couple of times to look the place over. (a little diversion during my essential shopping / chemist trips). Local yobbos like breaking the occasional window at the weekends after hanging around the industrial estate taking drugs. No major issues yet, though the alarm has gone off a couple of times. Everywhere is very quiet. But seeing that quietness right in the heart of London must be a bit spooky.
Marks & Spencer’s were refusing to take cash payments today ...a sign of things to come. These are delicious BTW
They used to do an excellent sausage & mash in their 'gastro pub' range. But recently they repackaged the range and introduced some new options to it. But the sausage & mash one (my favourite) disappeared. Never mind. Worse things happen at sea...
The good is always top notch in M&S, a shame that charity shop wages do not extend to going in there too often.
Why the sudden party political broadcast? What exactly makes you think that any other government would be taking different advice? Disappointing post.
How is everyone doing in this COVOD-19 epidemic? Know that isolation can be hard on some people? Plus no sports. Can be hard. Anyone want some tasty food recipes or whiskey recommendations I'm here for a few suggestions.
