I tend to be a very laid back type, Mme would probably say too laid back when she wants a job done. As a result I rarely get angry, simply because if it is something I can sort out when a bit of logic is applied, then I will do it. My advice to the children when they were upset about something, was if you can sort it out do so, if you can't, then you will have to accept it no matter hard it might seem.
Tonight I feel anger. My daughter in Gloucester has told me that her friend, and the Dad of her sons best mate has died from the virus. Just 50 years old, and someone who spent a lot of time in hospitals and care homes working on electronic alarms. He was admitted to hospital a week ago, and needed to be put on a ventilator. They didn't have one, so sedated him and managed to keep him alive until one did become available. Too late. Despite everything being done for him by the staff, they just didn't have the equipment needed. Staff putting their own lives at risk working without protective clothing, and yet we have politicians lying about why they didn't do anything when they were warned only two years ago that they needed to spend some money and provide it. Of course it is always the fault of someone else when they get called out. Why did you say that the target for testing staff had been reached Mr. Gove when it hadn't been. I was given the the wrong figures by the NHS. No you were lying to protect your own skin.
My anger tonight is towards the government that has been running down the NHS, selling off buildings, reducing the number of beds by 17,000, and watching Hunt selling off chunks of the NHS, which was never his to sell, to his mates. Anyone who supports such failure really should take a long hard look, and ask would they be happy to have such an incompetent bunch running the show if they needed a ventilator which wasn't available, and cost them their life. Everything will be alright in five or ten years time is moronic when you see their failures over the five or ten years costing people their lives today.

Difficult reading. And I fear it is a story that will be repeated far too often over the coming weeks. And you're right to be angry because the family and friends will not be able to grieve properly. Intolerable.

My wife already has Easter eggs and cards.. Had them for weeks.
We have this wood near us with a small lake in it. It is approximately half way between our house and our sons. All can walk there. We have had 2 'rendez vous' with him and 2 grandkids to pass over supplies etc.. And see the grandkids from a distance . I have no doubt we will do the same with Easter eggs! Of course for many many people it will not be possible..
Mind yo .. As a diabetic, I can do without chocolate!

People are dying all around the world even in countries with so called top medical facilities. It is not appropriate to use these tragic events to further political bias at this time. Thankfully the public are well behind our government during this difficult period.

You really do show up what sort of person you actually are sometimes. "People are dying all around the world"; so another one will not make much difference?
I am not sure which part of my post touched a nerve. Was it that I suggested that the government was lying to people? Not much doubt about that is there when you see Ministers changing the story when they are asked for an explanation. Was it that I suggested they had been slow to act? Not much doubt about that either as they scramble to make it look as if they are doing something. Was it that I suggested that they ignore advice so as to save money? It is not so long ago that flood defences were shown to be incomplete because of lack of funding.
Are we not allowed now to question what the government is doing to safeguard lives? Is it all a part of a progression to a right wing state when expressing the wrong opinion is likely to have you interned?
I suggest that when a neighbour in your area dies because of lack of equipment, instead of going to see if you can help in any way, you go along and offer membership of your party.

I simply believe during this tragic time it is inappropriate and distasteful for anybody to seek political advantage. Thousands are dying in France which you hold as the model for medical excellence. You have a clear political agenda which you unfortunately intend to maximise at every opportunity. You time would be better spent working on positive ideas on how you can help your community.

No, you want everyone to believe that your government is a model that the rest of the world should follow, and when they choose to not to, you can only seek refuge in your tax return. If you want to actually see the country adopt the best standards, you would look around and ask questions. How has Germany been prepared to test people when the UK doesn't have the kits? How has France brought back 300,000 people from abroad, when yesterday Raab said what they will do, not what they have done. I know this doesn't go down well with you, but a little bit of humility about the failures would be a good step for you. It is you who really doesn't want any questions asked as it shows up the level of clowns that you have voted into power.
