That'll be a big boost to the economies then.

Yes, I'll certainly be fretting about the stock market and the strength of the pound ;)

I'm exaggerating but seriously there are so many totally pointless flights these days.

The police were attacked for asking people not to go walking in the Derbyshire hills or swimming in lakes.

Seriously, if one of these people gets lost, has a stroke, breaks an ankle or whatever ...

... it could easily involve mountain rescue, paramedics, a helicopter, police officers, ambulance drivers, nurses, etc.

We don't have enough to go round as it is.

Absolutely spot on... Although I do like the occasional hot weather holiday!! But the organisation I work fir has conducted some of their most successful and productive meetings since the “lockdown”. And nobody is in the office. Everyone dialling in from their homes. We had 22 people meeting yesterday about a new software we’re putting in place. Got another 9 of us meeting today. And I’ve done more work the last 2 weeks than in the last 2 months as I’ve had no distractions in the office. No one knocking on my door saying “can you x y or z this”!!

I have a relative who's in IT and regular flies to meetings in the UK and abroad ...

... the irony is hilarious and sad in equal measure.

The infection rates will rise for weeks due to extra testing, but the slow downs in deaths, that’s not related to testing.

Its a ray of light mate and we all wanna get on that.

Indeed a ray of light, but they must be careful how its spoken about and publicised.
The sensible decent people will say '' lockdown and precautious attitude IS working, so we must keep it up''
The ignorant couldn't care will say ''lockdown HAS worked, so I can party again and do as I like''

    Absolutely mate.

If it is working, and we do the full 3 weeks so we are beyond the incubation period, we are beating it.

The issue of the millions of office workers will still team aim so they should be prioritised for testing and isolated if required.

Always the same most people act in a reasonable and lawful manner others think that rules are for other people and choose to ignore sensible instructions. Where we live their are gatherings of youths at the skate park , you wonder what the parents are thinking about . The Authorities have enough on their plates at the moment without people creating problems that needn’t be happening , one of the best comments I have seen was from a WW2 veteran who said we had to march to war to save lives we are asking you to sit on your couch to save ours and you can’t even do that. - Good point well made !!!

Nice to see the polis not been too owa zealous now

Like in the first week when the virus kicked in the panic buying seemed to have settled too

Think at first the polis themselves were unsure about the powers they had

Mind like with the public get one or two tossers in uniform acting like the gestapo

But once it settles people will be ok hopefully by then of the 3 weeks other shops could be back open

Pubs & clubs open say back to the old days mmiday till 3 then 1900 till 2300

Get the economy back on track

Was hoping we had turned some sort of positive corner with the drop off of deaths, but today snaps back to the reality of the situation. This is set to go on and on.

With circumstances such as these we need to avoid being too pleased with an upturn or too disheartened with a downturn.

It'll be a long slog and we shouldn't burn ourselves out endlessly analysing stats.

It's like being trapped in a cave waiting to be dug out ...

... you don't know how long it'll take and how many are digging.
