Like Brexit, the rich will emerge richer and the rest of us will get shat on. It is as it ever was, and probably always will be.

You obviously don’t get it. It’s more than just a state of mind, it’s a culture, it’s a way of life. A badge of honour to be worn with pride. A whole community of people.

It’s a bit like being able to roll your tongue or wiggle your little toe, some can tune into it and others never will.

You’re clearly bitter that you can’t feel it, but life isn’t fair, learn that and accept it. It’s a bastard.

The foreign office could have banned all but essential travel to these places. It left the onus on individuals and companies to toss up who was going to lose their money. And there’s only going to be one winner there.

I used to think Peter Hitchens made some pretty sound logical points, after his performance on tv this morning, I'm beginning to question my own sanity.

Not sure how you can blame the travel industry, they take their advice from the Foreign Office.

Given your implications about cry baby generations, surely you should be questioning his salinity?

It’s the blame culture. Very few people take responsibility for their own Decisions anymore. It’s always someone else’s fault.

there are loads of vulnerable people who would get seriously ill or die if they caught any number of viruses/illnesses. life is a tightwalk for many and we never normally think about this.

normal flu can and does kill lots of people. its when it turns into pneumonia that it gets serious.

Nice try but totally wrong. Without healthy relationships which teach a child these things, how will they ever know? They will not be able to change because they won't know for themselves that anything can be different.

I'm taking the piss. I wouldn't disagree in general.

The reality is we're living in probably the best time there's ever been to be alive. We live longer and healthier, grow more food, travel more widely and have information at our finger tips. Deaths from natural disasters have reduced by over 95% and air and water quality is better than it has ever been in the western world, and places beyond. All brought about through the advances in technology and health that fossil fuels provided.

Even the current crisis involves the hardship of watching telly and playing video games for most people. You wouldn't realise any of that if you read the news.

The point of my initial post is that there are other victims beyond the poor souls getting infected, and I see it as a humane trait to offer a helping hand.

    Billy Big bollocks know nowt

Edit: I apologise. I'm not into being abusive online, just having a particularly tough day. Like any stress inducer, we all have triggers and that's one of them for me.
