This all will lead to extra things in contracts now from this point on you'd imagine, something along the lines of if football cant take place because of X then your pay % drops to X.

Do clubs get TV money at the start or end of the season?

  4. And yet I keep destroying your fear mongering, propaganda pandering half-truths with very simple facts and mathematics.

  6. It’s not an insult if it’s true.

    Then, it is merely descriptive.

You keep posting stuff that is proven to be nonsense within a couple of minutes. It’s no different to your contributions to this forum on pretty much every subject over the years. Remember the coastal retreat and the supermodel wife?

Pick your facts and run with it, pay no attention to any other facts that prove you're wrong.

This is the way of the world.

    We're all ****ed.

  13. [sigh!]
This really is like trying to explain calculus to a chimp.

    I will, however, keep trying...

Yes, Pix, this is a new strain (so we are being told), and that’s why it is infecting a lot of people very quickly. That’s what new viruses do, as has happened regularly even in the course of very recent history, and without any of the draconian measures currently being taken.

You see, what happens, is lots of people get infected, and their bodies develop an immunity to the virus, which ends up protecting us all. Some people - a very small minority of the overall population - will die. It’s unfortunate, but a necessary part of the process, and it happens with all viruses.

    That’s how immunity works, see.

If we don’t build up a natural immunity to this virus, everyone will keep catching it, and more people will die, in the longer run.

Hence, the anger of many intelligent people at the way in which this is being handled by our halfwitted Government and encouraged by the idiot masses.

I noticed Trump has now entered the “who can blame” phase and was having a dig at the U.K.

Replace “intelligent” with “selfish” and it makes more sense.

Rather than letting several million people die so that you can keep doing some ****ty conveyancing work, the plan is to minimise the number of deaths while developing a vaccine.

If you’re really struggling, get in touch with social services.

  18. I’ve left that band.

I’m forming a new band with a couple of mates of mine - a drummer and a bass player. We’ll probably be predominantly playing blues and hard rock.

Gary Moore, early Clapton, Hendrix, Led Zep, etc.

I want to get away from pop metal/rock.

It’s been an interesting ride, but I’m bored with it.

The panic mongering never helps. Picking worst case to sew panic/fear is silly.
When things are at their worst, is when your head shout be its coolest.

    Also
If you have 7 billion people and a pandemic kills 0.02% no one really bats an eyelid (quite literally)
If you have 60 million people and you lose 10% to a pandemic it's like WOW

0.02% of 7 billion is 140 million people (no one really is concerned)
10% of 60 million is 6 million (everyone loses their mind)

The mortality rate panic is largely just that, pointless fear pan handling at this point.

For me (I mainly think of the poor bastards trying to breathe because that's my POV, I dont work in gov managing masses) it's merely down to helping people who need to breathe, to breathe, and preventing more people needing assistance to breathe though, because we, you and I don't operate on the "overall management level" where numbers matter, you and I are on the human experience level where we should focus on the consequences at our level, ie those around us being ripped up by the virus.

IF.. you bring the cold calculated attitude of dealing with numbers, down to ground level of human experience (worries fears empathy ect) you are going to come off like a sliced pan mate, and I think that's largely why you're not getting any traction.

I've learned that if you take a minute to ponder why others think the way they do rather than trying to ram your view home, it actually goes a long way. <ok>

  20. I admire your patience.

You’re right, of course. I should be more patient with people, especially those who, like Stan, really do struggle with thinking.
