    It's defo seven days.

If I paid, I'd be paying Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify (don't mind that) and still paying that **** Branson for the privilege of Sky Sports (and his lamentably ****ing **** broadband service) that they have seemingly 'forgotten' to mothball.

    It's bollocks.

Branson might be in for a shock, I won't be the only one cancelling in principle when this is over. I won't be going in Spoons again either.

Ok I just learned Branson owns Sky Sports.

I think the worst is Gordon Ramsay, only because I kinda expect it from Martins or Levy or even Branson. Just did not think Ramsay was like that.

Wouldn't take Ramsey long to spend all his money on staff wages.

Don't know why they weren't furloughed though?

    Thought Sky Sports was Murdoch?

Well that's what I thought but I read your previous post about Branson and SS and thought I'd missed something.

Ramsay is the only chef on the Forbes 100 richest list. Made £54m last year iirc.

If you watch his programme he goes around slating American restaurant owners for the way they treat their staff. What a fake.

He’s worth over £200m, I’m sure he could have supported his 500 staff for a few months if he wanted to. But no, he just laid them off, as he couldn’t be arsed with the prospect of even having to wait for the Govt subsidy. He’s firmly planted himself in the **** category.

£150 million between 500 employees. Reckon they'd manage.

Well yeah, didn't realise he actually had that amount of cash. Straight cash though, yes? Or was he selling all his restaurants to pay those wages?

Irrespective, he still could definitely have kept going longer, didn't know he was worth that much. I can't boycott someone who I've never spent on in the first place though, unfortunately.

Virgin haven't suspended Sky Sports payments like Sky themselves have.

They're 'working on it' though. Allegedly.

He's earning £50m a year and being asked to give a 1 month loan to people who work for tips. Was too big an ask though.

The politicians are quick enough to call out the "moral vacuum" in football but not people like Ramsey.

A quick search says that none of the figures any of you posted are close to reality.

Forbes actually says 'earned' $38 million dollars. Which is not £58 million.

Even so, another says his restaurants earned a pre tax profit of 'only' £500k.

I suspect initial suspicion that he wouldn't be able to sustain paying wages for very long is closer to being correct. Which is why i said it in the first place.

Got no reason to defend the ****er, it's not like I like the ****.

Keeping with the theme, banks charging businesses 30% interest and asking for personal guarantees on government backed loans.

These fckers were bailed out by the taxpayer when they were in the ****. Were the cause of austerity for the last decade, cost people their homes and many the government services we needed during that time.

And this is how they respond at a time when thousands of small businesses are desperate for a lifeline.

These fckers should be being rolled over hot coals... but their behaviour is getting hardly any press.

The government only backs 80%. So if you don't pay, their plan is to take everything you own, then ask the government for 80% of whatever is left. Then they lose 20% of a slightly smaller number even though it costs you everything to do it that way. Not their problem though.

If you're not willing to take £1000 away from someone else just to make yourself £1 richer then you can't be a banker.
