Morning all. Sunshine and cloud here this morning, but no wind at all so it doesn't feel cold. As I pulled back the shutters earlier I noticed one on my neighbours washing his car. Nothing odd in that you may think, but it is unusual as most French people, who keep their cars very clean, will visit the Blue Elephant when they go to the supermarket and use the high pressure jet wash. For a euro or two, you can have hot water, foam, and a fine finishing spray. Sometimes you might find that you are waiting while one of the post ladies are washing their bright yellow vans, or an even longer wait if one of the many school buses is having a clean up. All of this is currently unavailable, and despite fuel prices being very low there is no one there to buy it. We have lost many of the small filling stations as they didn't sell enough fuel to make deliveries viable, but I suspect that the large outlets such as the supermarkets have seen sales slide away to almost nothing.
Have a good day, and stay safe. <ok>

    Just seen this tweet.

The newspaper industry is in massive trouble. Ad spend has plummeted and many journalists are being ‘furloughed’ or just fired. Reporting is vital in our society - arguably now more than ever. If you’re passing a shop on your walk today, please #buyapaper

    Hola Hola,

On semi-lockdown here. Working from home.

Most people are trying to respect the Government recommendations.

Not as tight rules as seen in England mind.

    Have a goodun y'all!

Morning all. Lovely bright sunny morning with a temperature of 20°C anticipated this afternoon. All pretty much on the go here so far as the meals on wheels van has just passed the house. Every day the lady comes past and goes to an even smaller hamlet than this one. It is not advisable to meet her on the lane unless there is a wide verge that you can safely take to, as I don't think she has learnt yet where her brake pedal is. I was joined yesterday by my little friend the robin that has come back to watch me turning over the ground. He is pretty fearless, coming very close if he spots a grub that he fancies. He is quite good company with the latest tunes from the robin hit parade. Have a good day whatever you are getting up to. <ok>

Good morning Dave. Hope you get back to sleep in your chair later. We've been up watching movies and an excellent documentary on the blues on BBC4. Kitchen to tidy then off to bed... big day at the virtual pub tomorrow afternoon!

Morning, Dave, morning, Fez: morning, all. :)

    Good stuff, Dave. <ok>

I am annoyed at Matt Hancock having another dig at footballers’ wages. He really should butt out unless he tells the many people who earn more than footballers to do similarly.

Anyway. Got quite a few birds singing at the moment, it’s very peaceful. I’ve probably asked you before, Dave, but do you just naturally wake early, is it the result of years of doing it (my Dad has got up before 7am every day all his adult life including retirement), or is it a conscious choice? I do prefer early mornings, but my own sleep pattern is very mixed, often depending on what I’m up to. Matej and Mrs Andy need defibrillators to rouse them from their nighttime comas. Seb will very quietly emerge around 6.30am and sneak downstairs to watch a film, play a game or draw (he is totally absorbed by his art work) or paint.
