The lenders hold all the cards except in the one option which is total repayment of the money ...

... then Donald is back in control.

FPP can currently veto a sale if they choose.

They can also refuse to allow anyone else to take on the loan ...

... not that I'd expect any decent buyer to do that.

Let's be honest, if anyone actually needs that loan we're just swapping Donald Mk1 for Mk2.

He likely hasn't spent much of it. If he has somehow (and it's hard to see how he could have spent that much), he will have to make arrangements with FPP, but they likely wouldn't ok the transfer of shares until it's either settled or they are comfortable with the alternative security that Donald offers.

Yeah exactly, the chances of someone with any financial acumen accepting FPP's interference on those terms would be nil. Donald was backed into accepting a deal weighted in their favour, with no risk to them and every chance to convert to equity in future.

Nobody buying us now is accepting FPP deciding to convert shares at their discretion unless they're in the same boat as Donald. I'd rather have him than a person who has to work out how hard this is all over again.

After watching STID it’s evident SD doesn’t have the finances for long term ownership. He actually admits that he would have to sell. I previously said the club was too big for him. They used the parachute payments to purchase the club and intended to flip it. Quite obvious. The only lifeline I see is Juan. It was mentioned by Methven he was going to be seen around the club more but hasn’t been. SD has mentioned he’s a bit of a whirlwind. I just think he wants to be involved in lots of things. I don’t think Sunderland is a priority for him. I think it was at the start but he’s involved in many more other things and won’t be investing in us anymore. Let’s see where this goes.

Just finished watching it. A little disappointed with the 2nd series overall, it felt it a little short. Surprised there was no closing credits written update, especially as they have not filmed this series.

Anyway, overall impression is that SD & CM clearly care. I know Methven has taken a lot of stick, and swearing / losing temper with staff is not great. However, I got the impression he just genuinely wanted to drive up quality standards. I would not be against SD staying on in some capacity. I also did not realise he has a bad limp.

    I agree with you totally.

An additional point I’m really disappointed in is the lack of trafalger square footage. Being part of that as a Sunderland fan was unreal and something I will treasure for the rest of my life and I’m so proud to have been part of it. But this was an amazing opportunity to showcase what we are about around the world and they missed a trick.

    I couldn't agree more mate.

The show we put on couldn't be matched by many other clubs.

I still actually can’t believe it, we went to Covent Garden first and it was great but turning up at TS at about 19:00 was a sight to behold, I turned around to look at my son (he was 24 at the time) and he was in tears, I gave him the biggest cuddle and it just reaffirmed why we love this club no matter what.
The special times are so special and we should treasure them.

In these strange times we are currently going through I just can’t wait to get back, it will be magical

It wasn't just a quick burst, it was hour after hour of an incredible demonstration of pride.

There was nothing orchestrated or assisted, just thousands of decent people doing what we've done for decades.

It will never be recreated, other supporters might try but never will those scenes be bettered. Just proud I can say I was there with my boy

Nice photo mate. Your son looks a little like Chris Maguire. Sadly I missed TS. I went down with my parents and uncle on the Friday and we started early at Camden brewery before eventually walking back to Westminster to my father-law’s flat. We were sozzled by that point.

The only other thing I noted about season 2 is the Sartori conundrum. I remember on one of the early podcasts, SD talked up his contacts and wealth. From that I got the impression SD would take it on early doors with a view to Sartori taking over as we went back up the leagues. I know he got into politics but he was at Wembley on both occasions, he seemed to enjoy it. So what changed? P.s Short junior seemed right into it at the checkatrade final. I wonder if he will try and buy it back once he inherits his dad’s billions.
