Belgium just announced the league table will stand as is and their season will end:

I have written to Mike Ashley and he has said that he will pay me back 9/38 of the cost of my season subscription to the Soccer Channel here, the cancellation cost for my flight to watch the West Ham game next week and he is sending me a voucher to the value of a half time pie and beer that I can spend in any Sports Direct shop worldwide.

 

It makes complete and utter sense to cancel it. Trying to squeeze it in because of money is ****ing pathetic and irresponsible. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event and the league/cups just need to be null & void, so we can start again on a normal timetable in September.

All this ****ing bullshit about winners and losers - people are ****ing dying, just forget this season existed, **** happens and start again next season. It's the utterly obvious answer. I disagree with ending early, that's grossly unfair.

 

Or restart when all this is over. Simple.
Next season starts say March and finish in December. Oh look Qatar wc

 

I really, really don't understand why we'd push next and potentially EVERY football season into a deferred/revised plan because of this one example and, basically, to keep ****ing Liverpool happy. There are huge implications globally for having to shift EVERY tournament - not least of which is then asking Spain/Italy/Portugal and parts of France to play much of their season in 40+ degree heat.

All you do is either stop it now and standing are what they are, or cancel it completely.

Because we will have to do this in 2 deals time anyway.

For all wet know nothing will have changed in August. So a mini preseason, restart from where we are. Finish the season. Then time off. Start in Feb X March and finish in December. Repeat them 2022 WC, then the league can try to realign.

Why make anything complicated.

I reckon at least 1 PL club will go bust if they have to return advanced money.

 

That's the point - if you're going to hand out trophies and promotions, you have to also hand out the FA Cup for Europe League qualification purposes. Aggregate goals I guess - not sure who that is, probably not us - but they won't do that.

Just put an end to it, stop fannying about, take it off the table for supporters and then get Sky/BT/PL/FA to piss off into a room and around a big table to work out who owes who and how much. Cut ALL players salaries to compensate. ****ing job done.

I think we should can the season now. All teams in positions stay where they are. Then when things settle relegation teams and promotion teams play off against each other in a mini league. Not 90 minute matches either but 60 minute matches.

This seems sensible and fair in my opinion.

Liverpool should be given the title.

All season ticket monies pro rata either refunded or set off against next season. The decision which should be the season ticket holders choice.

Players should be given the option to reduce their wages by whatever they want but with a minimum of 20% reduction across the board to cover the refunded monies. Remember if the season ends. They cannot work anyways.

Players out of contract at the end of the season should be granted an an extension of the months that they had left now with the decision on whether it is accepted placed at the players door.

I should be prime minister.

 

How's that fair? The teams in relegation zone could play out the season and stay safe. Sheffield United could qualify fire the CL.

Finish the season when this pandemic is over. Give a normal end of season break then start next season. Like the changing of the seasons
