It was only last week that we moved up to testing 10,000 people a day. Meanwhile, other European countries have been testing 75,000 people + per day for the past few weeks. I keep seeing praise for the government for their handling of this crisis and yet, in my view, they seem to be making decisions incredibly slowly. Mass testing has occured and increased far too slowly and even the whole lockdown business took it's time when it was very evident from every other major country infected that it had to happen at some point. It's almost as though they thought, "we're smarter than other countries, we can contain it when they failed".

In other news, and more tied in to the football, anyone know what the deal with Liverpool players and staff' wages is? It's being reported about how some teams have took government funding to offer furlough to their non-essential staff whilst still paying their players full salaries. I believe Barca and Atleti have taken a 70% pay cut so that all other staff can be paid (70% cut still leaves them with only 30k+ a week whilst doing feck all, bless them) and so the club doesn't run into issues. Juve have agreed a complete pay freeze of the players and manager! Have we done anything?

LFC committed to keep paying casual staff as if there were still games. Nothing announced on full time staff so I assume they're just working as normal, no furlough.

I've seen three announcements from Boris since he claimed to have two symptoms of CV; a temperature and persistent cough. In roughly ten minutes total viewing time, he's not coughed once!

Amazing how quickly Boris and Hancock got tested, especially as my daughter and my ex, both nurses, can't get tested even though my niece has just self-isolated with a fever and a chest condition. In fact, my ex, an A & E nurse, has been told she'll not only not be tested, she's to work in the specially adapted coronavirus ward here at York.

Good to see prince Charles on the mend too. No messing about with his test either. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Some professor advising the government is saying that we need to go back to the discredited herd strategy, as we've 'painted ourselves into a corner' with social distancing. Yeah, with 10k a day people being tested. This will go well.

    Good to hear

I know it hit the news massively the other day with their player finances, but I do feel football as a whole should be doing far more with the resources available beyond just helping out the smaller clubs. They're huge community hubs who have the capacity to really help people around them.

My ex just told me how they put a couple in their 80's together to die at their request. They passed away this morning within 20 minutes of each other. They had a delivery of PPE today - seven years old. NHS staff will be ****ed in the head for decades to come after this disaster, I tell you.

Oh, and Boris... well I hope everyone who gets this virus will get the best of care and recover. But the Express are actually suggesting we stand and applaud him at our front doors tomorrow, like we would the NHS on Thursday. Well I'll save my applause for the nurses and doctors facing this ****ing holocaust with inadequate PPE, equipment and testing kits. And should the worst happen to Boris (I truly hope it doesn't) I hope his supporters don't have a predilection to wallow in grief and victimhood.

    What goes around, eh?

What's happened to Boris Johnson is worrying because it shows it can happen to any of us. He had mild symptoms and went downhill very quickly. This virus doesn't discriminate; it's attacking the healthy and unhealthy alike. We're all at risk

I am not certain I am believing the whole Boris thing
Think Sisu finally had an effect on me - I think it’s more a management tool for the country
But you are right about the virus wishi imho
