Of course it was Norman Watt Roy. I didn't realise he was playing with Wilco. I can't believe I listed the drummer as Charlie Daniels instead of Charlie Charles! I think Charlie Daniels Band were a country and western outfit who had a hit with 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' in the late 70's/ early 80's. I can't find that interview.
I guarantee my dad could tell me intricate details of this game yet will still ask me who BOS is every time he’s on the team sheet.
It's probably an age thing, but Inbetweeners for me (although I did love both Father Ted and Frasier)
On this day in 1956 Bert Trautman broke his neck playing for Manchester City v Birmingham City,Man City won 3-1.with 15 minutes to go the midwife asked my father if he wanted to see his new born baby daughter he told her to give it 15 as the cup final was nearly over, upon visiting my mum and new sibling his 1st words were "Bert Trautman has broken his neck", my mothers reply was "I've been breaking my bloody neck in here" gotten love the old fella
I remember watching this as a kid, live on TV. I found out today that Margaret Thatcher wanted the TV camera's to show the world that this is what happens to terrorists if you attack London. Woo hoo 75 years ago ww2 ended in europe Doesn't seem like 25 years since the fiftieth anniversary We went to cherry something park in the twickenham area for that Must look that up now
This time next year I look forward to reading that this was the last day we heard of Covid 19, or that a cure had been found
I'm afraid the only way we'll stop hearing of Covid 19 from tomorrow is if they change its name to Covid 20.
Very good interview with Bernard Sumner in the Times today. Apparently Curtis was a laugh until he went on medication for his epilepsy, nothing like what you would expect. Bernard still not talking to Hooky. When the NME compiled it’s top singles of the 80s list, Bizarre Love Triangle was at 9, Love will tear us Apart at 2 and Blue Monday at 1.
It's such a loss. I was just really getting into music at that age, and last year my wife bought me the limited edition 40th anniversary release of Unknown Pleasures for my 50th, and it was my favourite present that I received (but don't tell her, she spent a fortune on other stuff!) I've seen New Order and Peter Hook and the Light, both great on their own but there's some really bad blood between them that seems pretty unreconcilable.
