With football programs indefinitely suspended, the likelihood of the Premier League and EFL fulfilling their fixtures looks increasingly unlikely.

With 20 percent of the season remaining, Leeds are top of the Championship, and are seven points clear of third place Fulham with nine games remaining.

Both Leeds and West Brom have not been outside the top two for the entire season, and prediction calculators give the Whites a 98% chance of promotion. However, with 27 points up for grabs, theoretically anything could still happen...

If the season were to end today, do you feel that Leeds deserve to get promoted or should the season be completely disregarded?

If the season is voided then you’ll have to take it on the chin I’m afraid.

You can’t be awarded promotion as you were nowhere near mathematically certain of achieving it.

So, no relegation or promotion for the league.

What about Liverpool and the title?

Only if you can find a third team to go up with you and West Brom to make sure Villa go down

You can’t relegate the current bottom 3 with 9/10 games left, that’d be completely unfair.

If it’s voided, then it’s voided.

They want to play it out, and it remains to be seen if that can realistically happen, but if not, it is what it is - an incomplete season.

But if they were NEAR mathematically certain then you'd be fine with it? :D

In fairness they do deserve it, they’ve been the best side in the division all season.

I’ve also got a couple of mates who are Leeds STH’s as well, and I think Leeds deserve to be promoted this season.

But you can’t award titles and promotions on what ‘feels’ fair, it has to be done on matters of fact.

So if Liverpool or Leeds were already mathematically certain of the league / promotion than it would fine to award them the titles whilst voiding the rest. But that isn’t the case.

I think you can do it with Liverpool but Leeds do have a good tradition of blowing it !
On the other hand the teams below are not good enough to make a sustained run at auto promo

Likewise having lost a final you cannot be Champions of Europe...

I actually agree with you on the promotion/relegation thing. Too far to go with only 6/7 points in it, whatever it is, especially as it's Leeds. They are the only team other than Spurs who can come third in a two horse race!

I'd love to see Leeds back up in the Prem. Not only is it where they belong, it's one of the few teams we regularly took points off - even when they were good and we were (still) ****e!

Hopefully Leeds have had their blip, and have won the last 4.

But yes, traditionally the second half of the season has not been kind to Leeds...

Fair or not is subjective, and more than likely it would only end up in the courts.
Too much money at stake for clubs to accept relegation or missing out on promotion through no fault of their own.
Personally, I want Leeds back in the PL.

I think this is all irrelevant anyway. The season will be finished.

Like Sheffield Utd last season for instance? They really need to find a way to finish it even if the league is shortened next.
If Leeds get enough points then good luck to them.

No they don't, but I feel sorry for the fans who are one of the best groups of fans around and belong in the top flight.

But not ALL season. Just part of it. NUFC were 12 points ahead one season with 14 games to go but we didn’t win it. Man U caught us but it was with less than 9 games to go.

Liverpool shouldn’t be awarded the title as they haven’t won it yet. They probably would have won it but at the moment they haven’t won it.

I still cant see why the PL prima donnas and the rest of the Leagues can’t just finish this season once football is safe to play. Then start on next season after that. Yes more games per week for a while but it’s possible and then we can all know for certain whether Liverpool won/deserved the PL title and whether Leeds won/deserved promotion.

No one has actually explained why that cant happen. It might take one or two seasons to get back into sync but it’s the only fair way to do it. Plus the powers to be were happy enough to take brown bags to screw the northern hemispheres leagues to sun bathe in Qatar so why can’t we just continue when it’s safe to do so?

Was listening to an Irish hotelier earlier who owns over 40 hotels with 11 more under construction, mostly in uk. When asked about his plans going forward, he says he has written off 2020 completely. I think he’s correct and there will be no sport or major social gatherings till after then. Also believe it will mean season can be finished from maybe March and then skip the 2020/2021 season altogether and continue as normal in august. Anyone thinking there will be football in next few months are simply deluded
