Been jumping around U Tube and watching various videos. A place to post any interesting/favourite videos on any sport. Not games but just clips. To get started one I always enjoy watching which shows why Georgie was the Best. Bear in mind the quality of the pitches. Do remember Gazza scoring a similar goal for us against Chelsea as Bestie’s one on this video when Bestie was in the US of A.
If I could like this 100 times, I would. I’m sure you’d agree that he was an absolutely fantastic player. That was his style and rose tinted glasses says that was his quality of play all of the time. Bestie was fast but TG was even quicker. Haven’t seen that clip before but I’m now going to hunt U Tube for more clips. Only 3 NUFC players have ever come close in style and quality to TG but none have been as good and each of the 3 were great players in their own right, Pedro, Gazza and Daveed. Clip sums up for me why TG is my favourite Toon player of all time.
Always found this video so perfectly summed up our relegation season, and his time with us perfectly.
Can't disagree on any of it. Without the injury, he would have made the difference between a decent team and a good team.
Have just watched a video interview with Tony Green (link below) where he explains that of the 33 games he played the opposition manager named him as NUFC’s best player 25 times. We had one or two other decent players at the time such as Supermac and Terry Hibbitt so a pretty amazing feat. Also how the NUFC Vice Chairman, Bob Rutherford, who was a General Surgeon operated on him and not an Orthopaedic Surgeon which is what was required. Also nowadays he would likely have been out for about 4/5 weeks and not finished. Comes across as a perfectly modest gentleman.
How the hell did we get beat off Hereford with those in the side? The word “Hereford” still boils my blood even now. I remember Tony Greens goal from an acute angle, first game of the season (72?) against Wolves.
Tudor from Sheffield and Hibbitt from Leeds, MacDonald from Luton and Smith Aberdeen, But the greatest player the worlds ever seen, We signed him from Blackpool his names Tony Green.
