Turns out the Excel was being provided rent free from minute one, there was just some fixed charges involved in opening it up and it's these that are also now not being charged.

Expect Arcadia to be the next major retailer to announce immediate permanent store closures, they're subject to a winding up petition and are likely to close many stores, possibly hundreds.

She should have demanded she resigned, instead she said that she wanted to carry on.

Quite possible that Nicola doesn't rate the deputy in the same way and didn't want a change in leadership of that department in the middle of a pandemic - it seems unlikely that she didn't realise the whole department's credibility was totally blown with Dr Calderwood in charge, even out of the public eye. It wasn't a "mistake", a "mistake" is a single, one off, thoughtless act. It was a pre-judged, repeated action that showed Dr Calderwood to be hypocritical and arrogant and totally unsuitable for her job.

On a related note, I did think that, ironically, Boris ending up in hospital probably does more to drive the message home about the dangers of covid-19 and the pressures on the NHS, than a week's worth of government briefings and updates. Hope he gets well soon - he's a father to a bunch of kids and one on the way.

What’s the most brutal weed killer you can get for killing of nettles and stuff. They’ve had a full bottle of that resolva stuff but they’re hanging on in there.

Wont be growing anything there in their place. The previous owners used this little fenced of area right at the end of the garden as a land fill site so the soil will be contaminated anyway. Gonna build a big isolation shed.

But my garden waste bin is completely full and I need them gone.

Seems that domestic violence might be on the rise as we are all locked down together. Whilst tensions may be heightened lets hope that this is not the case. I also noted that pregnancy testing kits are also on a sales rise. Funny old world isn't it.

All banned by the EU, resolva and roundup are poor diluted versions of what they once were. The only solution is the blister end of a spade and dig them out, every last bit of root as well, or they, like arnie, will be back

Not as good (in terms of killing weeds) as the stuff you used to be able to get, but Maltby’s on Hessle Rd do some decent stuff

This is what I’ve been doing, and jumping on the top of the garden bin to pack it all down, but nothing else is fitting in. So need something to make what’s left shrivel up into nothingness.

Sodium Chlorate if you can get it. Cheap bleach is also an option.

The fact they had to issue a statement to confirm it might tell you otherwise..

I am the worlds worst gardener, every thing I try to grow dies, so I'm thinking of hiring myself out as a weed killer. If I nurture them, their days are bound to be numbered.

The exception to that is, if I try to kill something. I attacked a tree in the garden by chopping it right out. It took ****ing ages to find every farting bit of root. I ended up with a forest of tiny trees growing all over the grass which must have been loads of the roots trying to grow. For the next one, I thought I'd learned, so chopped it right to the floor and set about attacking the stump with drills, flamethrowers old engine oil, various lotions and potions, the lot, and the ****ing thing is thriving and blooming.

Not good news for the staff or suppliers obviously, but an awful company. My sister worked for them (him!) for some years and they took the piss out of the staff, pay and hours wise, reliant on a stream of young women willing to work in the fashion industry for less than minimum wage, once hours were factored in.

Have you tried torching them? Or start a good bonfire then gradually drop the green stuff in. It'll piss off your neighbours though...

What do you want to use the land for afterwards and what's your budget.. If it's a few hundred quid (probably! I'm converting currency) , just pay for a mini excavator and someone to drive the top 20cm of soil away, then cover in a drainable, permanent cloth and cover in bark - no more digging out weeds ever again.. A lot of money for one year, but multiply time spent over a few years..

Hire in a stump grinder from a hire shop for a day. Gone forever. The problem with the potions is they they're toxic, pollute the land and nature tends to find a way after a couple of years.
