And he was one of the headlines on the front page of yesterday’s sun paper with some bird, unbelievable with what’s going on at present
The ‘millions’ of antibody tests we have bought, apparently sight unseen, from China, only work in people who have generated massive amounts of antibodies because they have been very seriously ill - in other words the ones that we already know have had the virus because they have been in hospital. The tests are useless in the general population, which is where we need them. The depressing word ‘months’ used to estimate when a useful test will be available.
Are these the only type of antibody test available at the moment, Stanislav, or have we simply ordered the wrong one?
They kept telling us, triumphantly, that they'd ordered 3.5 million of these things and that they would be available any minute. Now they turn out to be useless. ****ing incompetents.
Maybe. I'd like to know whether there's more than one type of antibody test or only this one with limitations. Are there others that are more useful?
From the article in the Times it seems that there are plenty in development but none proven anything like accurate enough for general use.
Debenhams going into administration, my missus has a part-time job there and is furloughed at present but to be honest I'm glad she won't be going back, all shop workers really are vulnerable especially our age group...
I think I mentioned about the suspicious test from China. I heard they would be made in house the other day.
Handjob only said the other day that we have 3.5m of these tests and that they are the best in the world. Sounds like he was just chatting **** hey
If the 3.5 million tests we were getting are theses things made in 'Hong Kong' then he has some serious problems.
Here is what Handjob said “We have already 3,500 a week of antibody tests at Porton Down and they are the top quality, the best test in the world. We are using those for research purposes to understand how much of the population has had coronavirus.” Are these people deliberately misleading us and if so, why? Is it too much to ask for a bit of transparancy regarding tests and testing.
Sweet jesus, the main road near my house has tenfold the traffic compared to last week. I'm presuming lockdown is over?
I don't know if we can accuse them of misleading us. Remember they get most of their information from the health people. Does that mean scientists or the NHS are misleading us? No, it probably means somewhere there has been a breakdown in communications. Also tbh I wouldn't believe half the stories I hear anyway. some media outlets are always looking for something to complain about. Take SkyNews this morning... once again they interview someone who is having problems with getting the chemicals for these tests. Never have they gone to the company that is doing really well. Why? Because the first story is meatier. One other thing on the government. Before Hancock bragged about the 100K and before the 3.5M the government was under a bit of pressure. Their supportive papers had turned on them and they needed a boost for the nation. I said at the time he should never have quoted 100K because if things went wrong people will moan? It's never just about health in a crisis, there is always a political side to it as well.
