    We are all nice(ish) people.

But is Trump the first/only person that we really wouldn't mind falling to the dreaded virus (after ignoring his own advice)?

I don't wish anyone dead, as a matter of principle. But Trump is something like the trolley problem: if you could will the universe to flip the switch, you save an awful lot of lives.

I really hope it isn't true, but Russian news are reporting that a 'source high up in the health service' has told them Boris is to be put on a ventilator.

The source is RIA news. I dont know enough about Russia to know if they are reliable. I really hope it's fake news/russian propaganda.

    Get well soon, Boris.

I don't like Johnson or anything that he stands for but I do really hope that he pulls through from this just as I wish the same for everyone suffering with this dreadful virus.

So Calderwood resigned yesterday...should have gone immediately...her position was untenable. I cannot even imagine what she was thinking as a medical professional in a high position. An action worthy of Trump.

    Get well soon, Boris.

Was moved by the Queen's speech yesterday. Must be frustrating for her that she can't do what she normally does in time of crisis...get out there and personally meet the people involved. Have to say my eyes filled with tears when she said that we'd meet again...that song always resonates...and I feel it personally as I can't see or hold my new grandson. Feel for all of you separated from your friends and families.

Let's hope we all meet again on the other side of this. Love you all.

Can’t believe I am agreeing with Piers Morgan .....he is asking Robert Jenrick MP why are the government targeting premier league footballer? and not the club billionaire owners covering normal staff wages instead of using furloughed money.

Giving to charity is a personal thing. Forcing this on people (who may already be supporting various charities in private) is invidious. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Unbelievably, despite the evidence, and bodies, stacking up, several states in America, have no known lockdown rules in place.
I saw a video on Facebook, from Mirtle Beach, which had hundreds of people, many in groups, seemingly oblivious to the need to social distance.
The guy taking the video engaged with a young group, with one 18 year old claiming that he wasn’t worried about the coronavirus as he has a strong immune system. How he knows that is anyone’s guess, unless he has history of fighting off dangerous life threatening viruses, but he also showed no awareness of the danger he could pose to the more elderly people.
They are heading for one hell of a high death count if they don’t start getting the message across.

Looks as if care homes are going to have a lot of vacancies, when the crisis is over, based on this report.
Care workers, in care homes and those who care for vulnerable people in their own homes, have also been letdown by the lack of PPE, which has to be a factor in the spread of the virus throughout a care home, in some of these cases.

Furlough is a good Idea for small Businesses IMHO , but it was NEVER designed for Premier League clubs .

Not sure what the answer is , as in how to change it , but same as always the greedy bastards will take the PI$$ ( Mike Ashley , Sir Philip Green take a bow ) ...

Yep exactly. But where the difficulty comes in is it can also protect the larger businesses that may be about to go under and will go under without government help (eg would Flybe have survived a bit longer with furlough?)

It is therefore difficult to draw a line on the size of business as if it could genuinely keep say 20,000 people employed in a larger business then it is a good thing. However, as you say there are always owners that will take the piss.

A more than iffy site, a quick fact check search got this.
"Overall, we rate Sputnik (ex RIA) questionable based on frequent promotion of conspiracies and pro-Russian propaganda, as well as use of poor sources and numerous failed fact checks."

I agree not all Businesses . I work for Openreach and just this morning our CEO put out an e-mail saying everyone in BT groups is Guaranteed wages etc for the next 12 weeks . To be fair he can't say anymore than that currently .

Same as always the selfish few causing Grief for the many ( Possibly ) .

Good. It was all over my twitter, was hoping it was bogus!

Maybe the furlough scheme should only be available to companies that made under X amount of profit in the tax year?

Call it £100million? Anyone over that is ineligible. Although I'm not sure that works, because then you screw over massive companies that have thousands of employees
