I could just imagine trying it in the House of Commons... It's one of those little exercises that should be in every teacher's armoury, but sadly isn't. I've used it up here as part of the Health & Wellbeing curriculum area quite a few times over the years - and also as a time filler on the rare occasion when there's a half hour to fill at the end of the day.
Mother nature and the world sure are getting better. It's those pesky humans that have been held back recently to enable the world time to recover slightly.
Which reminds me - I must see if I can find the old TV series 'Edge of Darkness'... Or even reread David Suzuki's Sacred Balance.
That might even have been me. I dip into it every once and a while - it's an excellent book, written by a genius.
A good friend wrote this for today...... So much suffering .... At the beginning of all of this, I chose to ignore the Reality. Not totally, but enough, so that I could function easily, through the day. As everything gets more intense, I choose to stay with the Reality, The suffering of mankind that is happening, on this Good Friday. I notice that as I let it in, that things around me change. The way I connect. What I notice. The intensity of it all. The Light and the Dark. What is important and what does not matter. At this moment I am with the people in ICU; Fighting for their lives. I am breathing with them, Now.
Thought provoking - and I'd add the question 'Once this is over, will they all be sent packing back to where they came from?'
The doctors who saved my wife’s life a few years ago, my sister’s life a couple of years ago, and my dad’s life last year - all from overseas.
