    I could just imagine trying it in the House of Commons...<laugh>

    It's one of those little exercises that should be in every teacher's armoury, but sadly isn't. I've used it up here as part of the Health & Wellbeing curriculum area quite a few times over the years - and also as a time filler on the rare occasion when there's a half hour to fill at the end of the day.

    A good friend wrote this for today......


    So much suffering ....

    At the beginning of all of this,
    I chose to ignore the Reality.
    Not totally, but enough, so that I
    could function easily, through the day.

    As everything gets more intense,
    I choose to stay with the Reality,
    The suffering of mankind that is happening,
    on this Good Friday.
    I notice that as I let it in, that things around me change.
    The way I connect.
    What I notice.
    The intensity of it all.
    The Light and the Dark.
    What is important and what does not matter.

    At this moment I am with the people in ICU;
    Fighting for their lives.
    I am breathing with them,
    Now.

    The doctors who saved my wife’s life a few years ago, my sister’s life a couple of years ago, and my dad’s life last year - all from overseas.
