Was the Monte Carlo Mob stuff in the paper version?
**** call to have it as a top link online. Even though it claims to be the ‘most read’ one that is clearly ****e. If it was a genuine most read Hull City article it would relate to an FA Cup Final or a promotion. So that was clearly an ‘editorial decision’ ...and a **** one
Just wondering if it was printed too in which case that would be even worse.

I've just read that letter sent to all the staff, it sounds like there's a decent chance that they won't re-open.

I read Rooney's statement, little chance that he composed what was said, he just put his name to it.

Not even sure of what he is 'alleged' to have said. Is it something about targeting multi millionaire footballers for a pay cut, isn't playing ball.

“If the government approached me to help support nurses financially or buy ventilators I’d be proud to do so, as long as I knew where the money was going,” wrote Rooney. “I’m in a position where I could give something up. Not every footballer is in the same position.

“Yet suddenly the whole profession has been put on the spot with a demand for 30% pay cuts across the board,” the former England captain added. “Why are footballers suddenly the scapegoats? How the past few days have played out is a disgrace.

“He [Hancock] was supposed to be giving the nation the latest on the biggest crisis we’ve faced in our lifetimes. Why was the pay of footballers even in his head? Was he desperate to divert attention from his government’s handling of this pandemic?”

“It seemed strange to me because every other decision in this process has been kept behind closed doors but this had to be announced publicly,” he wrote. “It feels as if it’s to shame the players to force them into a corner where they have to pick up the bill for lost revenue. In my opinion it is now a no-win situation. Whatever way you look at it, we’re easy targets.”

It's about morals, ****s like him taking home 10's of thousands a week whilst his team mates ( the under 23's 18's and the rest) the ones who clean up after him, the ones who prepare the stadium he plays in are laid off on 80% of what little they earnt.

How much will Hancock & the rest of his ilk be giving up? What about Her Maj? Should she be shamed? Will Mogg be shamed by Government to give up the profits he’s making out of the crisis? It was a cheap shot, but not unexpected from an inept moron.

Have they been laid off on 80%? (genuine question, I’ve not really followed it)

The problem the club have is no income currently coming in other than from memberships and a likelihood that when football restarts it may well be behind closed doors. City have another problem in that other championship clubs have only gone for wage deferrals leaving players probably feeling badly treated in comparison to other championship players. Members have problems because they are paying on a promise of completing the season when most people can see that is only likely to happen behind closed doors.

I think OLM is talking about a pub in Kingswood, not Hull City AFC!

Yep this is what people like Gary Neville &Lineker miss. (I suppose Lineker is chipping in by not having his usual chauffeured car taking him to Media City from Surrey for MOTD each week)

You pay some of your employees £50,000 to £150,000 a week, yet you want to dip into a pot set aside for companies/people who are at risk of going bust or hungry and who have extremely precarious cashflows.

If you haven't the nouse to see that I pity you.

Football may be a business but football and business are worlds apart if you see what I mean. Clubs that are part of the local community, the songs YNWA and all the rest, players kissing the badge, the togetherness and camaraderie. Looks like non of that means anything to the players or some clubs owners.

I'm digging out the club- not the players.
