so if they are deciding to loosen their lockdown, surely that means it will start to creep back up again?

Probably - I assume the ultimate goal in countries under some form of lockdown is to slowly loosen the restrictions and keep an eye on the number of cases - we're all going to be exposed to it at some point. I expect tightening and loosening of the restrictions as necessary to keep within NHS capacity and the rate of cases/deaths to go up and down so the graphs starts to look like shallow waves.

I predict the most likely outcome is that non-essential shops and small businesses being given the go ahead to return to normal over stages in the summer. Education establishments opening in September. Encouraging office-based staff to WFH as long as possible to reduce public transport pressure. International travel restrictions and "social distancing" for elderly and vulnerable to carry on indefinitely until a widespread uptake mass vaccination programme.

Trouble is, under that regime, I can't see large gatherings like concerts and football in front of crowds to resume much before the end of the year, as each one would be an opportunity for one person to infect lots of people all at once. And as the crowds tend to be more local (than, say Cheltenham festival), the impact of each "spreading event" could be disproportionately felt by one hospital. I can't see them being allowed until we've reached the point where a majority of the population has had it or is vaccinated or otherwise immune.

That's a fairly decent take on what I can also see going forward....Life will take some time to return to anywhere near normal unless a vaccine is found rapidly.

And further to that it will be interesting and informative to see what happens in Germany who plan to move out of lockdown on April 19th.

Lots of vitamins, can be added to different dishes, good in curries and as previously said the sting disappears.

I guess being weeks behind other countries allow us to see what happens there when they loosen their restrictions.

I read yesterday that Bill Gates has paid for 7 factories / facilities to work on a vaccine. The two they think most promising will be further funded with a view to a roll out of any vaccine..

oooh, ooh, an excuse for an old joke.

The Mrs was trying to be all sexy, and put on a bit of show for me, pleasuring herself by putting a lollypop deep inside her.

I told her she was disgusting, because she had to see the kids across the road with that later.

The Saskatchewan government led by Tommy Douglas was the first democratic socialist government in North America and it introduced the continent's first universal health care program, commonly known as Medicare. Subsequently it was used as the model for the rest of Canada. At this time, I am especially grateful to Tommy for Medicare.

Just had the daily presser on the radio in the car. I think they’ve run their course now, repeating the same sound bytes over and over. Caught the first 3 questions, all 3 journalists asked exactly the same pair of questions and got exactly the same answers. What’s the ****ing point?
